Burning coal and gas makes disasters more frequent & intense. Yet Labor has approved 35 new coal & gas projects.

Labor is responsible for fueling worse heatwaves, floods, bushfires and rising insurance costs.

Communities must come first, not profits for big coal & gas.

If you’re affected by flooding: seek higher ground, leave if told, avoid floodwater, boil drinking water, stay tuned to local warnings and check on neighbours and elders.

Stay safe up there.

My heart is with everyone facing floods up north. In Bundaberg it's the worst in 10 years, in Katherine the worst in decades. And more rain is possible.

Rolling disasters will keep devastating Northern Australian communities as governments make the climate crisis worse.

AUKUS is a waste of $368bn for nuclear subs that will almost certainly never arrive while people feel deep cost-of-living pain.

Australia must not follow Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump into another illegal war. End AUKUS.

AUKUS handcuffs Australia to the military aggression of a dangerous US administration.

Australian resources are already in play as with US spy planes refuelling in WA this week.

Labor has so many reasons to get Australia out of AUKUS.

Canada sees it’s a dud deal and doesn’t want to join any more.

There’s another illegal Trump & Netanyahu war in the Middle East that Australia should not be supporting.

We all deserve support when we need it - and we deserve it without having to wait weeks or months for it, especially when that wait could be deadly. Add your name to the call to governments to fund women's safety: www.fairagenda.org/fund_womens_...

There has been good work done to bring violence against women into the spotlight and encourage women to seek help.

But if that help is not there because there isn’t enough funding, we are condemning women to homelessness, violence or death.

This week, advocates gathered in Parliament House to demand the government make women’s safety a priority in the lead up to International Women’s Day and fully fund frontline services.

The Greens proudly and loudly back those demands.

Funding for frontline FDSV services is still only 80% of what the sector has spent a decade calling for.

That's 1 in 5 women being turned away.

If this government can afford to hand $368b to Trump for AUKUS submarines, why can’t they afford to fully fund women and children’s safety?

Albanese was the first leader to back Netanyahu and Trump's illegal war that has sent fossil fuel and weapons profits surging.

As people across the Middle East pay with their lives, billionaires and corporations line their pockets.

War is never the answer.

In war, civilians suffer, while the rich line their pockets.

Oil profits are up. Weapons companies are booming.

Meanwhile, schools and hospitals get bombed, and thousands die.

War makes billionaires and their corporations even richer. It’s just another business model for them.

You cannot bomb your way to peace.

Labor must immediately rule out further Australian support for Trump and Netanyahu’s illegal war in Iran.

Israel’s endless war continues with more bombing of Iran and the Iranian people. Whether Iran, Iraq, Palestine, Yemen or Lebanon the region has experienced repeated Israeli and western killings and invasions and it always pushes peace away. The world must act to end the killing, stop the bombing.

With homophobic violence and attacks on trans people increasing, we cannot forget that Pride started as a protest.

For as long as there are threats to any part of the LGBTQIA+ community, the Greens will be in your corner fighting for liberation, and for love πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

Big love to everyone headed to Mardi Gras in Sydney this weekend.

Now more than ever, spaces that celebrate queer joy and community must be protected.

The Greens are proud to join LGBTQIA+ people in solidarity this weekend, and all year round.

During the Greens-led inquiry into CGT discounts expert after expert said wealthy property investors shouldn't get these massive handouts.

This next budget is a huge opportunity to put first homebuyers and renters ahead of rich property investors.

Labor can't waste it.

Big news. Negative Gearing changes are back on the table following our campaign to end investor handouts.

Unfair tax discounts just make housing more expensive, and give billions to super-wealthy property investors.

Ending them will help everyone have a home to call their own.

You deserve politicians who are going to stand up to these corporations - not pocket their money and turn a blind eye.

The Greens will keep pushing to break up the Coles and Woolies duopoly and make your groceries cheaper.

You can’t afford to put food on the table while Coles & Woolies use fake discount claims to rake in mega profits.

Two weeks ago Labor, the Liberals & One Nation all voted against the Greens Bill to make price gouging illegal.

Still think they’re fighting for you?

The PM calling Grace Tame, a woman fighting for the safety of children, β€œdifficult” is completely unwarranted.Β

Labelling women as difficult won’t silence us. It won’t stop us speaking truth to power.Β

Next time try β€œunbreakable” or β€œwarrior” or β€œfierce”, Prime Minister.

Sadly, this is true to form for Finocchiaro’s CLP.

Her government has overseen racist law-and-order plays, ripped out vital environmental and cultural safeguards, and shut down democratic scrutiny.

The Prime Minister should withdraw his support for David Connolly’s appointment.

Social cohesion doesn’t look like appointing an NT administrator who has mocked First Nations peoples, made sexist & transphobic comments, and β€œjokes” about family violence.

Listening to First Nations communities doesn’t look like ignoring their concerns and emboldening racists.

The Prime Minister being evacuated from his residence in Canberra due to a bomb threat overnight is shocking, I am glad he is safe and well.

The recent escalation of threats against parliamentarians must be called out.

Violence has no place in our democracy.

You should be able to afford a home.

Your grocery bill shouldn’t be a jump scare.

But the major parties would rather do the bidding of their donors and lobbyists.

Politicians should be working to make life better for people, not for corporations, not for billionaires.

In one email, Mandelson wrote: β€œYou do not want to turn it into an issue of β€˜who governs Australia’ β€” the voters and their elected representatives, or the mining companies.”

A UK politician. Writing to a US billionaire sex trafficker. About killing a proposed mining tax.

Let that sink in.

Mandelson appears in photos and emails in the Epstein files multiple times, and he didn't just share the UK’s state secrets.

He also asked Epstein to use his seedy network of billionaires to help Australian mining companies dodge a tax that would’ve cost them billions.

Next time you’re told there’s no money for mental health or affordable housing, remember Peter Mandelson β€” former UK Ambassador to the US, β€œbest friend” of Jeffrey Epstein, and now arrested for misconduct in public office.

The DFSV Commissioner calls for consistent monitoring and a national funding map to allocate resources so no one seeking help is turned away.

The only acceptable outcome of this meeting is commitment to immediate, funded action on these issues β€” anything less risks more lives.

More than a year ago states & territories agreed alcohol and gambling worsen violence and promised to act, yet nothing has changed.Β

When young men were killed by violence on nights out, the response was immediate.Β

Yet when women are killed it’s all talk and little action.
