I feel like I'm part of the problem, If I show any empathy to people like Kirk, who was a hateful figure that promoted a genocide and had an extremely hateful rhetoric towards minorities. Why shouldn't I be happy that he's gone? Why does my brain tell me that it's wrong to say "fuck yeah he's dead"?

No one is asking anyone to mourn the death of a shit person. Celebrating like a goblin however is not being careful. Cheering violence can put a target on you or your community’s back for retribution.
