Grey Shoulder-knot (Lithophane ornitopus).
A photo of yesterday's Grey Shoulder-knot killing time in a hammock-like leaf, pretending to be dead and waiting for me to leave.

The wind I'm not too bothered about, but whenever it rains early on Wogan is often lurking in the morning. Plus, my numbers are dreadful at the moment, so it makes little difference whether I trap or not. Good luck to you, though.
Nope. Though I might put a light on until 10. From 10 onwards it's raining and 22 mph winds.
Hebrew Character (Orthosia gothica).
Last night, a shot of a Hebrew Character in a dark greenhouse following a trapping session the night before. One disadvantage of using a greenhouse as a giant trap is the number of hiding places for #moths. You never know what's in there until it gets dark and they start flying around. #teammoth
I feel the same way about a Yellow Horned. However, there's little chance of seeing one of those where I live. I have my fingers crossed for you. ๐ค
I had given up on it after learning that oak woodland is its preferred habitat last year, so I was surprised to find it this morning.
Grey Shoulder-knot (Lithophane ornitopus). NFG.
After leaving a light on in my greenhouse all night, I found a Grey Shoulder-knot NFG on the wall this morning. Since there isn't any woodland close to where I live, I assumed that I wouldn't get this moth. It's always nice to get a new tick.

I've never seen a Twin-spot but I did get a Grey Shoulder-knot for the first time this morning.
I haven't had any yet and I'm in the same VC.
The pink underside is something I've never noticed. I don't even think I've ever heard of it. ๐ค But I will now definitely keep an eye out for it.
Clouded Drab (Orthosia incerta).
A Clouded Drab for #MothFaceFriday.
I caught a few LBAMs last night for the first time this year, but I was too lazy to take photos of them. It's been one of those weeks. In any case, they will soon be a constant sight in my garden. #teammoth
Dotted Border (Agriopis marginaria). NFY.
A Dotted Border that was new for the year last night. I was expecting a good number of #moths because of the temperature of 11ยฐC and the lack of wind, but that didn't happen. ๐ #teammoth
Emmelina monodactyla (Common Plume). NFY.
A pot-shot of a Common Plume NFY, which takes first place for being the hardest moth to photograph this year. I've chosen to call this picture "LET ME OUT!" #teammoth
It was August 26th for me.
A Great Diving Beetle, my first bycatch of the year. The pond, which is close to my trap, is where I frequently spot it.

I'm on the East Coast, just north of you, close to Spurn Point. I saw a Convolvulus for the first time last year, so it will be interesting to see how I do this year. Good luck to you, too.
All of the Nicotiana alata seeds have been sown in anticipation of another successful year of Convolvulus Hawk-moth visits. ๐ค #teammoth
Clouded Drab (Orthosia incerta). NFY.
A Clouded Drab NFY from the trap last night. Compared to some of the drabs I've seen on #TeamMoth today, this one is undoubtedly drabbier. But I'll take it; there's going to be a lot more in my trap over the next few months.
Common Quaker (Orthosia cerasi).
A recent Common Quaker for #MothFaceFriday. This moth played dead so convincingly that I thought it was dead.

Oak Beauty (Biston strataria). NFY.
This morning's Oak Beauty NFY. To be honest, I wasn't expecting to see one this year, after its disappointing absence last year.

After ejecting him out of the pot and fridge, I think I startled him a little. All he could do was stop, drop, and roll.
Hebrew Character (Orthosia gothica). NFY
After entering a state of tonic immobility and realising that I posed no threat, this Hebrew Character NFY was prepared for a photo session a short while later. However, he may still have been acting dead โ the right way up! โ because he had no intention of moving for the camera. #teammoth
Hebrew Character (Orthosia gothica) playing dead. NFY
Because of the dramatics of this morning's first Hebrew Character of the Year, I have the chance to add something new to the #dramaqueenmoth hashtag. #teammoth
That's a beauty of a shot.
Oak Beauty (Biston strataria). NFY.
When I went to empty the trap this morning, I was really happy to see an Oak Beauty NFY on the wall. Last year, I didn't get to see this moth. A single Hebrew Character was also new for the year. #teammoth
I didn't realise it was time for lures. I better get my act together.
Given that beige is currently all the rage, I was able to get a Com. Quaker NFY in last night's trap. In addition to one Pale Brindled Beauty and three A. heracliana NFY (who promptly reminded me that some micros are very annoying to photograph!). #teammoth
Yeah, that's really odd. ๐ค๐
Allegedly, where I am, it's going to 10ยฐC tonight. So yeah, fingers crossed.
