When this was released there was a pretty severe sound problem. I got up and went to talk to a manager (very unlike me ๐ ) by The Wizard & I, and they told me it was a sound mixing issue. I was PISSED that Cynthia Erivo's voice was not blowing people out of their seats as it should have been. #hatm
I thought this comment was about Defying Gravity, which also applies... #hatm
I don't love Goldblum as the Wizard. It is just a little too Goldblum-y for me, and the incredible Joel Gray originating the role, it was so unique and quirky. Closer to the original Wizard of Oz too, not that it always has to be that way. Harumph. #hatm
In one of the many interviews they did on the press circuit, someone asked her which is the harder song - Defying Gravity or I'm Here.
I saw her in The Color Purple on Broadway and basically cried the entire show ๐ญ #hatm
The movie realllllly disappointed me with "The Wizard & I"- on stage it's a showstopper! #hatm
I thought it was because she isn't fully in control of her powers yet and they are mostly driven by emotion, and she's developing feelings for him. But could also be foreshadowing of some sort... #hatm
I just adore her. She also played the role of Sally in You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown in the 1999 Broadway revival and as a fellow petite/short person, I hear her voice in my head ALL THE TIME #hatm
The grip the pink & green color combo had on me (and every other theatre girl) in high school... ๐ฉท ๐ #hatm
It's Boq but Glinda pronounces it "Biq" #hatm
The lines in this song are pure poetry! #hatm
As a big musical theatre person I gotta say... The SpongeBob Musical wasn't half bad! #hatm
I wouldn't be surprised to hear a "Hocus Pocus Musical" in the works, given how many other movies they've turned into musicals recently ๐คฃ Beetlejuice, Groundhog Day, Dirty Dancing, Death Becomes Her.... #hatm
Some real Karoline Leavitt vibes for sure #hatm
My high school choir took a trip to NYC to perform at a few places and while the group went to see Hairspray, my mom (one of the chaperones) opted to take me and my 2 best friends to Wicked. Original cast, early 2004. Still gives me chills!! #hatm
The fact that with all the delays, this was finally released in November 2024... Yikes. As we walked out I told my friends (who hadn't seen it before) "man, Part 2 is going to be BLEAK." Knowing what is coming...oof. #hatm
Next to Normal is the most recent musical to devastate me (in a good way). Having a mentally ill parent very similar to the one in that musical... Ugh, the feels!! The accuracy! Such a brave depiction of disability #hatm
1) Top Classic: Camelot. West Side Story. Jesus Christ Superstar. Top Modern: Assassins. But Rent is the one that changed my life!
2) regular ol' chicken nuggets and fries night over here! #hatm
That's the one I got too. Guess now is as good a time as any... #HATM
Never been more excited to be landlocked #Arizona #HATM
They sing this song in Titanic! #HATM
People can't really keep their eyes open in salt water right? There's always open eyes in these movies, makes my eyes burn just thinking about it #HATM
Do we know how the families felt about the Hollywood-ification of this story? I know sometimes they are OK with it and sometimes not #HATM
What I remembered most about this movie was thinking "this is the saddest thing I've ever watched, never watching it again" and now here I am, anxiety through the roof! #hatm
Marvin Zindler lives in my head rent free #HATM
Growing up in Texas we went down to Galveston a lot and I remember watching the movie about the 1900 hurricane many, many times at the history center. I think that's when my true understanding of the power of the ocean as a forced not to be messed with took hold #HATM
Living in the desert (Arizona) this is also a common sentiment when people go out hiking in 100+ degree weather and have to be rescued #HATM
My favorite piece of Marky Mark lore is that after he had kids and grew more religious he is worried that God won't forgive him for Boogie Nights #HATM
