Oh hi I'm at APSA
Hi! Are you on Medicaid and were you essentially turned away from the ER by being told that it isn't clear that you care would be covered due to Medicaid portal issues? Email me at jmetraux@motherjones.com
Attention #Medsky! The Latino Medical Student Association is circulating a petition to call on professional medical organizations to stand up to ICE re: rescinding their βProtected Areasβ policy.
This needs a massive signal boost. Letβs #STANDUPTOICE and get as many signatures on here as possible.
Genuinely insane that a major newsroom isn't running a live post today trying to verify what is and what isn't being impacted by the federal funding freeze. Embarrassing how bad the media response is to this.
Pediatricians and Family Medicine docs do so much of the work that everyone benefits from.
Y'all don't even rely on federal funding, come on now. Get it together
The silence from professional societies is VERY LOUD RIGHT NOW
I have been out with covid for nearly a month. The way I finally got covid the first time is an awful story I'll share later on. Sorry for not being too active. :( It is just as bad as I thought it would be for me.
Hey #NEISvoid pals!
Anyone in the #Seattle area have the name of a doctor whoβs knowledgeable about the EDS/POTS/MCAS trifecta, or open to referrals to drs who are?
I have a friend whoβs struggling to find informed care.
Reskeets helpful, thank you!

I sent in my dissertation and melted.
Constant stress isnβt healthy for anyone, but especially for those with chronic illness where it makes the conditions worse!

When you go to an open mic night, you realize the point of art is not really to be a fancy person whose name everybody knows. Amateur singers & poets with day jobs deliver the most stirring & moving pieces. Their names may never be known & they may not care, the point was to share for someone.
The way this is all set up and that your doctor can just decide to derail your entire week is ridiculous.
Like am I not allowed to travel ever? Am I just supposed to be able to go (45 minutes from my home, I might add) whenever? People around me canβt drop everything to drive me. Iβm so over the USβ puritanical drive to punish illness.
Thank you so much. I'm sending this out to my summer students!

Hello! Iβm Tia. Iβm a 1st gen scholar with a PhD in psych. Trained as a behavioral neuroscientist, I broadly studied hippocampal dependent spatial navigation (how do we get from one place to the next?). My lab days are behind me but you can find me writing about cool science.
AHHAHAHA
Neuron embroidered on a-line skirt - skirt is burgundy-ish, neuron body is green with yellow center, axon is light blue, dendritic projections are orangish pink. I wore this at the recent Child Neurology Society meeting so you might recognize it if you were there!
This is a neuron I embroidered on a skirt
Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance. Each year, the trans community loses too many lives, especially trans women of color, to hate and violence.
More than ever, we must stand by our trans family and support them, hold space for them, and insist the scapegoating and targeting stop.
Now.
Chuck @johnstreicher.bsky.social in there!
