Now I'm all for knowing what you want and going after it but getting hit up on grindr by a profile calling itself "πŸ‘€ 4 chubby bottoms" is doing nothing for my self esteem lmao

Mark Drakeford using his legions to march on Cardiff and seize control from the Senedd was in fact a distinct possibility

One time I said that politicians should be prosecuted by default for their actions in public office and a guy in my history course said that it didn't work out well when they tried to do it to Caesar and I was like "you know what fair. 21st century Wales is *exactly* like late Republic Rome"

She's been turned from a villain into a figure of tragic but absolute free will, a frankenstein like figure almost who casts aside the position she was literally made for to grasp at a life that, however awful, was hers to choose

I love the story of Blodeuwedd because people have taken a tale ostensibly about a treacherous and conniving wife and completely feminised it, using it to examine themes of feminine agency, autonomy and gender. Good going for a woman whose entire story only takes up like a page of text

We shouldn't have started calling AI by that name because now it has people talking about some hypothetical robot takeover of earth instead of the rampant capitalist exploitation of our labour and creative expression

Such a beautiful examination of 19th century Wales. Full of wonderfully described personalities. And there is honestly nothing funnier to me than an englishman learning Welsh and travelling the country like a sais Tom Bombadil going "hoo haaa bet you didn't expect an englishman to know Welsh!!"

Rereading one of my favourite ever books: George Borrows' "Wild Wales". It's such a pleasant, humorous and engaging read, and Borrows' jovial, almost (benevolently) oafish personality bleeds through every page. If anyone is interested in Welsh history then I can't recommend it enough

Watching bridgerton and getting frustrated by the constant "Wales, what is there but sheep" "what was a sophisticated lady like myself supposed to do in Wales" as if Wales was a cultural deadspot. I will riot in drag I stfg

Have gone to the workies for a few solo pints and have been adopted by the old lads in the pub as an honorary straight. I am a chameleon. I am a mimic

ALT Picture 1:

Picture of Welsh Underground Network members gathered in front of a stage in the stute's main hall. They are holding two flags - a green one with the initials CFWI (Cefn Fforest Workers Institute) and a red one with the date 1831 (for the Merthyr Rising). Below is an image of WUN members in hard hats fixing a beam in the stute's ceiling.

There is bold red text on this image, reading "Cefn Fforest Stute Report, February 2026"

"The Cefn Fforest Miners Institute is open

Our years at the stute have been spent smashing, building, fetching, carrying, painting, plastering, fixing and weeding. We've removed rubble and installed solar panels.

Now, thanks to the hard-working stute volunteers, this formerly abandoned building is once again ready to serve the local community. It has already been host to a pantomime, a lecture and a wrestling match!

But we're nowhere near finished: this year we'll be repairing the stute's atrium, growing a new community garden and holding some exciting events in its main hall..."

"WUN members get the job done

The Welsh Underground Network's founding mission is to restore and empower working class communities like the one in Cefn Fforest. We believe that with enough hard graft and the right plan, the Welsh working class can achieve anything we set our minds to.

What we've done at the stute is remarkable, but this is only the first step on the journey. We won't put down our tools until every town in Wales has a stute like this one.

Get in touch if you want to come visit the stute with us, if you know of another stute that needs our help, or if you want to join our movement."

Stute Report: the Stute has now opened!

The Welsh Underground Network's founding mission is to restore and empower working class communities like the one in Cefn Forest.

We won't put down our tools till every town in Wales has a worker-owned community centre like the Cefn Forest Miners Institute.

If I was working as a foreign spy and got caught I would simply snowmobile my way to freedom down a mountain as enemy agents shot at me but then I drive off a cliff and parachute into the open door of a waiting helicopter while saying something quippy
