shoplifting is bad. cheating on your taxes is bad. smoking on the train is bad. not picking up your dog’s poop is bad.

we live in a society, act like it!

They wrapped my recent order (an LOA collection of westerns) tightly in fine paper, and on top of it in the package they placed a tiny fold-out popcorn box and a Valentine’s Day–themed lollipop. Incredibly charming. 10/10, will buy from them again

I'm starting to think we're living in a dystopian parody, a cross between SOUTHLAND TALES and BRAZIL with a dash of HER and THE TERMINATOR. Buckle up, things are going to get weird. www.thebulwark.com/p/every-day-...

i work with words for a living, so I am biased, but I really think we've got to bring back words. really useful if you imbue them with meaning and arrange them properly!

No, There Was No β€˜Imminent Threat’ From Iran Team Trump shows that words made to mean everything will cease to mean anything.

If "one day" and "eventually" are "imminent," then words have no meaning. At least not to this administration.

Oldest son told us this morning he had a nightmare where a wolf was stalking him and trying to eat him but he realized it was a dream and that he had the power to end it so even though he was terrified he lay down and let the wolf eat him (!) in order to wake up. Some kind of terrible lesson in this

I never got a lot of clarity on the nature of the latter’s business because he didn’t talk about it with me much (possibly because he ended up having a pretty mixed record of success in that area…)

Aubrey is a first-class guy for whom I have enormous respectβ€”consistently so intelligent, forthright, and generous, a true poster’s poster (complimentary)

Trump Puts Noem Down Like a Dog Her tenureβ€”with its illegal deportations, immigrant pain, and killings of U.S. citizensβ€”ends this month.

"A big part of Noem’s legacy also will be her alleged corruption: her use of government planes for personal purposes, her abuse of her staff, her unprecedented choice to live in housing usually reserved for the commandant of the Coast Guardβ€”the list goes on."

Close head-on view of a beautiful pug dog standing on a tiled floor just inside the doorway to a kitchen. The fur around his face is starting to go grey. Because of the angle, he sort of looks like just a head on two legs, full of wisdom and hunger.

The story my wife likes to tell about this story is that the first time I tried to tell it to someone else, I said I sold the shoes to Celine Dion

While working at Hudson’s Bay on Bloor Street (RIP) just before closing one night, I sold around eight pairs of shoes to Shania Twain. They were all display models, so I spent the last several minutes of our interaction straining for nonchalance while prying staples out of the stickered soles
