Our base is under attack. Low power . . .
shoplifting is bad. cheating on your taxes is bad. smoking on the train is bad. not picking up your dogβs poop is bad.
we live in a society, act like it!
well, I just decided this is the last post I can read tonight before I sign off and go to bed, where I expect to lie staring at the ceiling for three hours
They wrapped my recent order (an LOA collection of westerns) tightly in fine paper, and on top of it in the package they placed a tiny fold-out popcorn box and a Valentineβs Dayβthemed lollipop. Incredibly charming. 10/10, will buy from them again
very enjoyable diversion here, in case you need one youraislopbores.me
Imagine being mad that your daughter is a genius
I'm starting to think we're living in a dystopian parody, a cross between SOUTHLAND TALES and BRAZIL with a dash of HER and THE TERMINATOR. Buckle up, things are going to get weird. www.thebulwark.com/p/every-day-...
was the grink there
i work with words for a living, so I am biased, but I really think we've got to bring back words. really useful if you imbue them with meaning and arrange them properly!
If "one day" and "eventually" are "imminent," then words have no meaning. At least not to this administration.

Oldest son told us this morning he had a nightmare where a wolf was stalking him and trying to eat him but he realized it was a dream and that he had the power to end it so even though he was terrified he lay down and let the wolf eat him (!) in order to wake up. Some kind of terrible lesson in this
just one more demeaning nihilistic provocation in an endless series of them
Hand it me
And if that doesn't work, we can always force more of our mutual friends to get married! It is always an option!!
I never got a lot of clarity on the nature of the latterβs business because he didnβt talk about it with me much (possibly because he ended up having a pretty mixed record of success in that areaβ¦)
finally watched Casablanca. wild in this day and age for something to actually live up to the hype
Aubrey is a first-class guy for whom I have enormous respectβconsistently so intelligent, forthright, and generous, a true posterβs poster (complimentary)
"A big part of Noemβs legacy also will be her alleged corruption: her use of government planes for personal purposes, her abuse of her staff, her unprecedented choice to live in housing usually reserved for the commandant of the Coast Guardβthe list goes on."

One was a small-scale farmer in eastern Ohio; the other started his adult life as a member of the Dutch resistance and after the war went into business
Auspicious!
Close head-on view of a beautiful pug dog standing on a tiled floor just inside the doorway to a kitchen. The fur around his face is starting to go grey. Because of the angle, he sort of looks like just a head on two legs, full of wisdom and hunger.
Happy 10th birthday to our pet gremlin, Mr. Bingley
She was very gracious
The story my wife likes to tell about this story is that the first time I tried to tell it to someone else, I said I sold the shoes to Celine Dion
While working at Hudsonβs Bay on Bloor Street (RIP) just before closing one night, I sold around eight pairs of shoes to Shania Twain. They were all display models, so I spent the last several minutes of our interaction straining for nonchalance while prying staples out of the stickered soles
all week tbh
