this chart shows the insane increase in cost per kWh from 2019-2024. Then a glance at my bill shows peak rates at 47¢ per (peak rate, noon-midnight). On average I'm at 30¢ per kWh since we try very hard to minimize peak hour consumption. But the peak rate inflation is crazy. And often hard to avoid.

As an EV owner in CA, this map makes me furious. We have abundant solar, hydro & even oil in CA. Yet we are burdened w/ electricity charges more than triple what much of America pays. Utility bills have mushroomed in the past few years and energy inflation is a HUGE affordability problem here.
