A bookcase can be glimpsed in the back, proving that these aren't just beautiful but also well educated cats. The key point here, though, is that the cats are not trying to eat each other which is a huge paw forward.

It's not exactly peace in our time but it does count as a truce in our early afternoon.

I always find these memorials at Postman’s Park unbearably moving. They make my eyes water every time. It’s a lovely idea, to commemorate ordinary people who do extraordinary things.

And Tiny Tim, who did NOT die, roams the vitrified surface of the Earth under a red Sun that no longer sets. He reckons time in mountain ranges now, not Christmases. 

“God Bless Us,” he observes. “Almost Every One.”
