If you tried to enact some long constructed and well thought out plan to actually kill her, she would just reappear eventually like "Oh, darn! Guess you'll just have to try again!"
And that's core to the appeal for me. The enigmatic Lady in Black who won't give the world against her any rope.
She's primal chaos, some thing filled with the idea of death that's up and walking around.
You can get a handle on her in the same way that you can grasp your hands around the air leaving your lungs.
She's a prideful, egotistical, and obstinate sort of Thing that keeps control of the script.

Part of the appeal of Dahlia in my brain is that she is both utterly uncontrollable and beyond obtaining.
