We are incredibly grateful to the Shurl & Kay Curci Foundation for supporting our research on implantation. In an often underfunded field, this kind of partnership is what makes progress possible. Proud to be doing this work at @Stanford.med

Our team has successfully achieved human embryo implantation in the lab using a 3D endometrial scaffold.
The Goal: Implantation is of the biggest hurdle in pregnancy. By understanding this process in the lab, we can develop new therapeutics to improve clinical outcomes and IVF success rates.

Curious. Over the last 100 years #longevity has pretty much doubled w little research input, while #fertlity decrases dramatically and yet, all the hype and the funding goes into treating aging as a disease and there is little research and funding for #ReproBio.

Thrilled to announce our new review in @ASRM_FandS on a critical bottleneck in fertility: human embryo implantation. For decades, this "black box" has limited our understanding of implantation failure and early pregnancy loss.

Embryos small but mighty, first live videos show
Scientists have recorded a human embryo implanting in a womb in real time. The implications of how it happens could lead to more and better treatments for infertility.
"'This is an amazing body of work. This is a big deal,' says Amy Sparks, director of in vitro fertilization and reproductive testing laboratories at the University of Iowa and a vice president at the American Society for Reproductive Medicine." www.npr.org/sections/sho...
