We literally watched videos literally every single day of ICE literally assaulting people violently for no reason. What the fuck, man
MPD's "duty to intervene" is meaningless when his police force worked through the last few months without a single intervention. He should just acknowledge there was no amount of lawlessness federal agents could've done that would have triggered an intervention.
Newly released footage shows an ICE agent killing Rubin Ray Martinez, 23, in his car in Texas.
"He was shot at point-blank range through his side window by an ICE agent who was in no danger."

The combination of ICE agents not having uniforms or identifying themselves, and police supporting their openly illegal behavior, has been that anyone who looks the right way can just openly break laws, in serious and dangerous ways, in broad daylight.
Important for anyone using Proton Mail:
OβHara said a supervisor tried to coordinate with federal agents on crowd control but was rebuffed.
βHowever we feel about federal law enforcement, they are a lawful government agency...We can not prevent them from enforcing federal law in the city.β (2) www.mprnews.org/story/2026/0...
Minneapolis Council Member Aisha Chughtai to Chief Brian O'Hara: βYou show up to the scene and you see federal agents pointing their weapons at people, and you donβt feel a duty to protect the residents of this community and instead choose to leave the scene?β (1) www.mprnews.org/story/2026/0...
Chief O'Hara confirmed today that there were no "self-initiated" reports from his officers of illegal activity by federal agents.
Everyone in Minneapolis ought to be seeing red about this. I think thereβs hardly anyone in the cityβoutside of MPDβthat hasnβt seen illegal activity by federal agents. They just pulled guns on people multiple times yesterday while driving a fake van right??? Was that yesterday???
This is known as the riddle of the trash barricades: We've established MPD is never going to intervene in cases of reckless, dangerous behavior/driving by federal agents. So why send cops to disassemble barricades erected to address a problem that police won't?
Of egregious, felony level misconduct, then they would investigate, but notes that it would be difficult considering itβs hard to identify the ICE agents involved. BECAUSE MPD DIDNT SHOW UP TO DEMAND THEY ID THEMSELVES. The circular logic of evading accountability here is horrific. (2/2)
HUGE SHOUTOUT to @aishaforward10.com for pressing chief OβHara on MPDβs response (or lack there of) to ICE. OβHara suggesting that MPD observing ICE is intervening and that they canβt interrupt the βlawfulβ right of the federal government to investigate. He keeps saying if thereβs evidence (1/2)
Awoooo
1. This morning, Texas AG Ken Paxton just released a chilling new declaration:
Mental health therapists, counselors, and psychologists must cease affirming trans youth - using their name and pronouns - or potentially face child abuse charges and loss of licensure.
Its a horrifying escalation.
Regret to announce that weβve reached Wrong Coat season. Every coat you wear from now til mid April will be The Wrong Coat for the weather
All this to say, Iβm slowly realizing how inept nonprofits are at meeting the moment when theyβre so restrained by capitalism. (5/5)
And they canβt fathom why taking a pay cut of a monthβs rent to their barebones budget is actually less important than the harm that will happen otherwise.
Also where were they when weβve BEEN advocating for more funding?? They only care now that it affects their bottom dollar. (4/5)
I hope there are loads of people outside the management class at these agencies that disagree with their directorsβ words today. Eviction is so disruptive and for POC/immigrants right now, itβs dangerous.
Iβve been musing on these agencies motives. I think theyβre attached to these processes (3/5)
The shelter system and then that system pressured this family with a disabled child and a newborn to move into a 2 bedroom apartment. Each time these kids shifted schools because of zoning, their IEPs needed to be amended.
I thought they had realized that their own system is broken. (2/5)
I was floored. Previously worked as a childrenβs mental health case manager (basically a social worker). It was infuriating to me that there was nothing preventative I could do when my client with SIX kids needed new housing. To access funding or aid or a housing worker, they had to go through (1/5)
It seems all Kansas-issued trans drivers' licenses are invalid, effective tomorrow
It is now illegal for trans people to drive a car until they surrender their license at a DMV (that most will need to drive to) and have it reissued with the wrong gender marker
This was never about woman's sports
JD Vance: "We're announcing today that we have decided to temporarily halt certain amounts of Medicaid funding that is going to the state of Minnesota in order to ensure that the state of Minnesota takes its obligations seriously to be good stewards of the American people's tax money."
Curious if you think this is unique to menβs hockey, or is it a symptom of all menβs team sports?
WE DESERVE AN ABOLISH ICE PLOW
Ahhh sorry I think misunderstood your post. Youβre saying that the culture of hockey itself is conservative, irrespective of the financial costs?
If people have to βbreak their backs working overtime to pay for itβ then yes, itβs inherently a pretty classist sport. Growing up, the hockey kids I knew were probably 90% upper class. Obviously just an anecdote, but feels pretty accurate to my experience.
Absolutely enraging. ICE kidnapped a 16 year old child in Mpls, refused to let him go home, sent him to a youth shelter in Michigan and LOST TRACK OF HIM. The familyβs lawyer used an investigator to trace a phone call and locate him. (π link)

Re: Bluesky βis seen as a joke across progressive media and activist circles.β
β¦ I respect the writer who posted that, and know he was angry because a friend was being treated unfairly he thought, but let me just say: not in Minnesota it isnβt.
Honestly the Frey supporters poured a lot of money into spreading insinuations about his main opponent (a Somali man) being a fraudster. Frey should be begging for forgiveness for fueling the flames of the fraud propaganda that tipped us into this mess.
I do think thereβs a bit of a βSTP is a suburbβ mindset from some mpls people. Being from stp and living in Longfellow, I donβt have that as much. Youβre right that NE is a hike by transit. I hate feeling like I have to drive to a place with very little free parking thatβs only a couple miles away.
