The new appointee in charge is learning the costs of politicization. He has no criminal justice experience. The people who know what they are doing are leaving. Actual criminal prosecutions are not being done.

A Trump loyalist took over the Minnesota office, and doubled down on the loyalist abuse of the law, trying to investigate Renee Good and her wife rather than the person who killed her. At this point, career civil servants left, and were immediately labeled "deep state" by the Attorney general.
