"The COVID-19 pandemic at 6 years: Mass death, debilitation and media silence"
"The pandemic has killed over 30 million people worldwide, left more than 400 million suffering from Long COVID... It is one of the most catastrophic events in modern historyβand it is not over."
March is Long Covid awareness month, and one thing you should probably be aware of is no matter how back to normal you are, you are at risk of complications from Covid, including LC. And those excess death numbers arenβt great either.
Bottom line from the last 6 years of COVID research : If youβve got blood vessels, youβd be wise to avoid additional infections.
Now is a great time to normalize wearing a respirator. Might feel awkward at first, but every person who does makes it easier for others to follow. Be a leader. π·
I usually prepare and practice my Senate speeches with care, in advance. THIS time, I spoke without notes, unprepared and impromptu, driven by a mix of passion and patriotism. The subject of debate was an amendment to Bill C-12. But I put it in a troubling Alberta context. #ableg #abpoli #cdnpoli

Graph showing the number of deaths pending investigation from 2019 to 2024. In total, there were 3,244 deaths pending investigation as of January 2026 βΒ without counting 2025. 2023 and 2024 contained the highest numbers at around 1,200 each.
Cause of death statistics are now missing 2024, which were available in the dashboard until recently.
The Alberta government has removed Cause of Death statistics for the entire year 2024 from its dashboard.
Fortunately, I reported on this in January, before the data were removed: drugdatadecoded.ca/up-to-89-per...
The government hadn't yet reported 2025. The latest year available is now 2023. 1/
As I've said before
It floors me that many Albertans can't see the absolute corruption of the UCP
#ableg #abpoli
Danielle Smith and the UCP government have fundamentally damaged our foundational relationship with Indigenous peoples.
The historic and unprecedented vote of non-confidence in this government at the Assembly of First Nations is proof of this.

What books did Alberta schools *actually* pull off the shelves in response to a provincial order? It took a lot of work to find out. We still don't have a complete picture. And some schools are still pulling material.
Free speech advocates say it's ban unmatched in Canadian history. #AbLeg By me.
New research: early inflammation after COVID traps iron in the body, impairing oxygen delivery and energy production. Iron stayed disrupted longest in long COVID patients, even after mild infection. This may help explain the fatigue families know too well. #LongCOVID

There is strong research evidence that Covid-19 and Long Covid increase the risk of many cardiovascular conditions, including heart attacks, clotting events, POTS, vascular ageing and more.

Smith says she's cutting access to social support programs because she "heard that people were moving here just to be on social programs."
This sort of hearsay framing is a dangerous rhetorical device employed by populists. Consider Donald Trump. +
βA responsible government requires independent democratic oversight and a transparent legislative process. The UCP has obstructed and failed to meet these basic requirements to govern,β reads a news release from the Assembly of Treaty Chiefs.
