Trump Officials Blame Mistake for Setting Off Confrontation With Harvard
An official on the administration’s antisemitism task force told the university that a letter of demands had been sent without authorization.
So the White House story is now:
“We didn’t mean to threaten Harvard, because we didn’t mean to send the threatening letter we sent, but when Harvard rejected the threats we made but didn’t mean to make, we decided to threaten them twice more.”
The country is now run by thugs and idiots.

To be clear, I truly don't GAF that some wealthy and/or famous women were passengers on a Bezos rocket. It is not in any way inspiring, especially at a time when NASA budgets are being slashed and women engineers & scientists are being pushed out of their careers and having their legacies erased 🧪

Completed jigsaw puzzle of Renoir's painting "Bal du moulin de la Galette."
The annual jigsaw puzzle is complete! One of my few holiday-time traditions. Thank you Renoir for the challenge and the pleasure.

I offer "Thank you." For your concern. For sitting with me in my sadness. For listening to my frustration. Hearing my anger. Not judging me. Not offering advice I didn't ask for. (Assuming we're not talking about the passive-aggressive non-apology from someone who really has wronged or hurt us.)

Ilona Maher's and Danny Amendola's dances this week bright me to tears.
Also loved the moment with Dwight Howard and his kids, and watching Stephen Nedoroscik being the intensity this week.
The athletes are the main reason I watch this show tbh.

MIT Media Lab's person-centric vision for #AI. Here's a taste of the sub-3-minute video: "We build systems that work with you rather than for you, that engage you in the process, where the goal is not for the machine to be right, but for it to be inspiring."

Here's something that seems like a worthwhile use of AI This is what can happen when we put people first instead of profit first. MemPal could become a profitable product - but first and foremost it will help people compensate for memory loss as we age. From MIT MediaLab.

Quote from Jason Hickel: "The 'economy' is ultimately our material relationship with each other and the living world. We have to decide whether we want that relationship to be based on extraction and exploration, or on reciprocity and care."
