What is NOT required is that your name matches your birth certificate. The registration form asks where you were born. If you were born in one of the 50 states, you are a citizen. If born abroad, you need to provide information on where & when you were naturalized.
In Illinois, we have always had to have ID to register to vote. A picture ID issued by a government agency, like a driver's license or state ID with current address, military ID, school ID, passport, etc. And a second piece of ID with your name: school ID, bank statement, credit card, etc.
Monday's Thought - Instead of making voting easier, the GOP does all they can to make it more difficult. Now, everyone has to provide ID to register to vote. Now, they want Passports, etc. for us to actually vote. That is a Poll Tax. They base these onerous conditions of fraud. There is none.
