Daily reminder this could all be over and we could all thrive if a lot of people just were willing to:

1. Admit they were wrong
2. Do the objectively right thing (as in what facts show would make life better for everyone) instead of doing bigotry, ideology, and/or Democrat Derangement Syndrome

Michigan Trump voter: I'm a fool, I guess. Gas prices have jumped $1. Trump makes a million dollars a day or whatever, but it makes a very big difference to someone like me who has to fill up the gas tank every single week and go to work.

So TL;DR welcome to America, where the good/neutral people are dumbasses where political calculations are concerned, while the people who are smart about the system are both shitty assholes and stupid about everything else.

A rare case where conservatives are more intelligent as a result, as they have no problems grasping that their vote keeps Democrats out as much as it puts Republicans in, so they do the correct calculation of which one is "better" according to their morals (and unfortunately their morals suck).

Leftist and centrist voters in America essentially have this insane thing where they treat Republicans like a force of nature that ends up in office by default or perhaps installed by some cosmic force, as opposed to a party you personally can vote against to keep out of office.

Murc's Law means we hate the party of decent people with normal person flaws more than we hate the party of cartoon supervillains who have all the same flaws and then worse ones on top.

What kills me about this website is the number of people who go "well, Democrats need to stand up more against Republicans or they won't get my vote."

It is wild that Trump and Hegseth saw Russia march face first into an endless quagmire in Ukraine that is wrecking Russia and economically devastating the country and said "yes let's do that, but Iran"

Dems win the midterms, get excited, coalesce around a presidential candidate, win the White House, fail to fix everything immediately, lose the midterms, spend the rest of presidential term unable to accomplish much, lose the White House, get blamed for everything, repeat.

I grow tired of people trying to fake like people who could have voted but didn't are somehow magically blameless or morally clear here.

Choosing to do literally nothing to care about opposing evil, even when it would cost relatively little effort on your part, makes you a shitty person. Period.

90M people also looked at the possibility of cartoon supervillain fascists winning and said "IDGAF", which is neither intelligent nor decent behavior.

The only intelligent, decent people were people who voted Democrat, and we were the vast minority.

The young people who voted for Trump would have known this about him if the mainstream media and their rightwing owners weren't sanewashing his corruption.

How any person (young or old) with a shred of analytical skills and a basic understanding of civics could compare the two candidates, Harris & Trump, and decide the traitor, convict, rapist, fraudster was the better choice is a clear condemnation of America's education system.

What's funny is despite growing up bullied and abused, I was still idealistic as I thought it was just the Berkshires that is bad.

When I got to Springfield and later the internet and found out not only is everywhere bad, but MA is actually *still* better than many places, it broke my brain.

As a geek, Americans being stupid doesn't surprise me at all. Our anti-intellectualism has always existed.

What I was instead surprised by is the amount of *evil* people in the United States.

I thought we were mostly stupid but halfway decent. Oh no. No no no. We are Stupid Evil: The Country.

This is thus absolutely the worst of both worlds, where instead of a society where everyone is at least basic level on both intelligence and social matters and then just adds a specialization, we have two major demographics rendered dysfunctional by cultural forces combining in the worst fashion.

America is a country where anti-intellectualism was considered cool and nerds were considered acceptable to bully and exile from society.

So congrats, we now are a country where the average person is an idiot trained to conform, while the smart people were never taught social or humanities skills.

I mean, they don't even have to look far back in history.

We are literally Putin right now who thought he'd have a quick little war of aggression against Ukraine.

I've heard people speculate he insists on doing his makeup himself, which wouldn't surprise me.

Could also be the competency issue he has in general, which is less that he can't afford people and more that competent people just can't stand working with him at any price.

Probably goes with him being stuck in the 80s in general, as that was definitely an 80s fashion thing.

Sure he still looks like an old man, but he looks like an actual normal old man.

What always weirds me about about Trump's makeup is that he looks objectively better without it, to the point where I genuinely can't figure out why he uses it.

Like, it's not even just that it's often applied poorly, as even when it's actually done all right he *still* looks better without it.

I think it's gotta be a bot, because the person just was full of self-owns and suspiciously getting mad at things someone who claims to be a Democrat would find completely reasonable, and finally she started just spamming the same criticism I had addressed/corrected already every previous time.

FYI:The only reason I've given her replies is because she replied to me first, and this thing in particular I've successfully addressed multiple times yet here she is red flag suspiciously faking like I didn't. I would suggest reporting as fake bot account and blocking.
