Office conversions won’t be enough to rebuild downtowns; apartment buildings contain many fewer people than similarly sized office buildings do. Downtowns will need many NEW buildings, not just conversions.

Boston released a guidebook for homeowners on planning and designing an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) on their property. While more work needs to be done to permit ADUs, by-right, in more areas, this is helpful starting point for homeowners interested in adding one to their property.
