A graphic showing how much wider cars are getting and especially in the SUV market
Cars are getting 1cm wider every two years. That may not sound much, but over time it adds up, and they're showing no signs of slowing down π¬
That's #carspreading. Our new campaign is calling on city leaders to make parking policies fairer by varying costs based on the size of a car.

Look what they took from us
Neat! Bet it look pretty similar 72 years later, huh

Me drawing my dream subway map for my city based on nothing but vibes and intuition
Canadian MP Charlie Angus: Our beloved Canada is under threat.
The threat comes from the president of the USβa convicted felon and known predator. But the threat is also being driven by the hate algorithms of oligarchs like Elon Muskβ¦.
The answer (in part) = βDutch drivers pay far more tax if they have a heavier car. The idea is to penalise those vehicles which most contribute to causing the potholes to help pay for the roads.β
Office conversions wonβt be enough to rebuild downtowns; apartment buildings contain many fewer people than similarly sized office buildings do. Downtowns will need many NEW buildings, not just conversions.

Federal Railroad Administration finalizes and ranks 15 potential new intercity passenger rail routes in it's long distance study. It should be noted that rankings have no bearing on actual implementation priority nor is there funding to advance projects forward.

The 2002MetroMoves plan could have tipped the scale.
Boston released a guidebook for homeowners on planning and designing an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) on their property. While more work needs to be done to permit ADUs, by-right, in more areas, this is helpful starting point for homeowners interested in adding one to their property.
I desperately need to get around to do this at some bear future weekend
davd baker does some of the best mid-rise housing in the US right now. this is about the best you can do w/ a double loaded corridor.

Does your city REALLY want to attract & keep families living in your downtown & urban places? Then get real about what it will really take.
These are the 3 KEYS in THIS ORDER:
1) ensure family-sized homes (2-3 bedrooms)
2) build local daycare, schools & supports
3) design places & streets for kids
