Oh yeah, it's an assertive flavour. I really love a Negroni but it is Not For Everyone. But like. I also love Fernet-Branca, which is even more of an acquired taste.

This actually ties into your prior post about the false “traumagenic/endogenic” dichotomy: I have only vague hunches about why I’m Like This, but knowing that my experiences track pretty consistently with people who do know why they’re Like That contextualises matters.

It’s just useful to hear someone else describe an experience I’ve had more articulately than I have thus far been able to, particularly when it describes areas in which I have doubted myself. Makes me feel safer, less alone. Makes *us* feel safer, less alone.
