More specifically white men should not be calling out BIPOC, women or queer electeds for not taking a stance they believe to be “the most progressive” stance for said constituents they represent. #checkyourself and build actual power through community engagement.
Advocacy with legislators should never include personal attacks on electeds or assertions that they should take certain stances because of the identities you assume they hold.
One of the most important segments of the #bikenyc community are @citibikenyc.bsky.social bike share users. But seeing that they don’t own their devices and are mostly commuters, they at times might not feel they have as much buy in to transit advocacy. What are some ways to engage these folks?
Intro 606 is TERRIBLE. It would require e-bikes and e-scooters to be licensed and open up people who ride any type of bike to harassment.
NYC needs solutions that save lives, not fear-based policies that will lead to bike bans.

My take on why some city council members plan to require all e-bike, e-scooters, e-skateboards, one wheels and even e-wheelchairs to register with DOT and carry licenses plates would be a disastrous quagmire.
TLDR: It’s the worst bill ever.
31 City Council members want to require e-bike registration in NYC, but expert say this could lead to a type of “stop and frisk” aimed at the city's mostly immigrant delivery workforce.
