We're now on 4 proven interventions thanks to employment data lab - no one has beaten Resurgo yet - so an increasing body of evidence to inform funding decisions from DWP, councils, philanthropists and others
Interesting that Humber Learning Consortium work with enough SEND young people to analyse this subgroup - a first for data lab. They have success at supporting these yp to be "looking for work", rather than gaining work. I suspect this is common to a lot of programmes - more to do here
Firstly, big shout out to @mynottingham.bsky.social
- we need local and national government to evaluate their work more, and I hope your example will be followed by others. A role for the LGA here
More good news from DWP employment data lab - effective programmes from Humber Learning Consortium (Springboard Hull and Humber) and @mynottingham.bsky.social
(Nottingham Works 4You), well done guys!

Good start to the day talking Conservatives and civil society thanks to @probonoecon.bsky.social. Stuart Andrew wants regular engagement with the third sector - suspect we want the same! #PBEevents
The basic problem with "ancestry" as the basis for identity is I literally wasn't alive then. I'm an Essex Boy, English, and British because it's literally all I've ever known
The explanation from @pjtheeconomist.bsky.social implies significant long-term benefits of working at 17/18. Anyone know a good Lit Review on this question?
Sometimes I think we need a Centre for Unpopular Policy
A good CPS event with @lehain.bsky.social @neildotobrien.bsky.social Meg Powell-Chandler and Dan Moynihan
And also I suspect there will be rows about whether what she does actually furthers her aims
Initial reaction to @bphillipsonmp.bsky.social speech at @csjthinktank.bsky.social - there's very little in it that I couldn't imagine Michael Gove saying
Packed room at @csjthinktank.bsky.social for this - there's a live stream, and a live thread below

Someone somewhere must have put together a 12hr course on productivity skills?
Housing, transport, health and education. Arguable the principal four sectors for any economy, all more expensive than the OECD average.
And if that turns you to drink, I've got even worse news ...
AI Action Plan day is a good time to remind people of some
@thenfer.bsky.social research from before Xmas - ChatGPT reduced lesson planning time by 31% with no noticeable reduction in quality
My biggest weakness? Buying festive products at 75% discount. Next year's Christmas crackers sorted, and I have enough chocolate to last until Easter (when I will then buy three months worth of chocolate the week after Easter)
Probably a stupid question but does anyone know if the US invades Greenland can Denmark trigger article 5?
Starting the year strong with Community Catalyst event at @uniwestpress.bsky.social
on English and maths. Talking administrative data and hearing from @fftedudatalab.bsky.social
Oh hush the noise, ye men of strife,
And hear the angels sing!
Quite the call. Is this in the interests of the young people the @childrenssociety.bsky.social exists to serve?
One of the main things I notice about employment rights is that many of the working-class folk I know were neither granted or aware of those rights, & many of the middle class folk I know assumed that rights were universally known & granted.
Salary and value aren't the same thing. Do you want high starting salaries and low progression thereafter; or high salaries, high progression and high cost?
I can sort of understand rubbernecking at a semi serious accident being your immediate reaction - but why does 2% of the population have a real problem with being politely encouraged to give an injured person some privacy?
Very good thread.
I'd note this focuses primarily on *output* targets for public services (waiting times, exam results etc.]
Of course what we (politicians, public) are really interested in are *outcomes* [health of the population/ourselves, education quality, incomes]
But.. [1/2]
lol
I don't usually see curiosity as to whether surprising facts are accurate as a political bias but I suppose the fun thing about biases is we'll never truly know
... Is that relevant somehow?
