Are you seriously asking why a politician might take positions they don’t believe in? I agree that Lamb appears principled and is a good public servant. But one can be those things and still campaign on a more progressive platform when the situation calls for it.
But I don’t need to apologize to Lamb for not being able to read the dang room in 2022. Any Ds general election opponent was guaranteed to be a Trump sycophant and was easily beatable even if Lamb had run to the left of Fetterman. And there was plenty of room in that direction.
Like @hamburglarhimbo.bsky.social I voted for Fetterman in that primary. I knew he was, at best, a lose cannon and likely much worse. But he acted like a progressive Dem for most of that campaign while Lamb was busy “moderating” or something. Like many folks here I was spectacularly fucking wrong.
