Guys. We're starting to get it. We're getting it.
The notion of a broken clock being sometimes right is based on a gross misunderstanding of what information is. A clock that always shows the same time is never right, even in the moments of the day when the time happens to be what it shows, because you don't gain any information about what time it is by looking at the clock. This reasoning also applies to chatbots. If you can't tell whether what you have been given is useful information unless you already know the information, then you haven't been given useful information.
There are things AI can do well, and things it can't. Anything that requires accurate, factual information is still firmly in the latter camp.
This is coming from a guy who loves the capabilities to vibe-code new tools for myself. But I wouldn't trust any LLM for accurate facts right now.

I guess it's good that this was actually an old record and not "broke a record that has now been broken annually for the past 5 years," which seems to often be the case.
And to be clear, I don't think we should re-sign him. Just saying that's the only way to redeem this pack of a move, at this point.
If #predsnhl don't re-sign Haula, then letting him go for nothing in a "selling" year is going to be Ryan Suter all over again. That was a horrible stain on Poile's legacy. This won't get l be quite as bad, but it is close. Esp after Haula's Olympic performance, we couldn't get even a 5th rounder?

I'm pretty happy with the returns on #predsnhl trades so far. Wish we could've gotten more for Blankenburg, but it's probably about right. And we got an especially good deal for McCarron. Not looking forward to salary retention on any of the big names though. Sell, sell, sell!

I was just checking out the PWHL live game feed on YouTube (during #predsnhl intermission) and was thinking "coming out of the Olympics, someone should have an 'intro to the PWHL' video for people." Then I saw this video, that had been posted 3 hrs earlier

There are 16k people watching tonight's PWHL game on YouTube, and a chat poll just indicated 54% are tuning in for the first time. Feels like that might be something.
