Hmmmm. Well no surprise I disagree a bit here I guess! One issue being that civil servants don’t get to put their side across in the same way. Also feels selective: advisors focus on SoS priorities so they feel like the most important thing. But the world keeps turning in other areas

See - a good argument for more homeworking! πŸ˜€ You don't actually end up trying to physically move civil servants! Those leading on the equalities brief were particularly vulnerable to being punted around Whitehall

MoG changes always complicate things. I remember that towards the end of the last Labour government they happened so regularly that officials hadn't changed from one MoG processes before the next kicked in!

What flag should you fly? August 2025

Given the proliferation of St George's Flags recently, and some of the clearly unsavoury connotations motivating some, it got me thinking: what are the alternative flag options?

So I wrote a short blog.

'Storm Bigoil' sounds like a detective in a pulp fiction novel:

"Storm Bigoil walked into the bar and warily eyed the clientele. His eyes settled on a tall blonde leaning on the cold marble counter, little knowing that she was the mysterious dame, Humidity Rising, who was paying for his services."
