Bring on the Board Games - JSTOR Daily The increasing secularism of the nineteenth century helped make board games a commercial and ideological success in the United States.

An article from JSTOR Daily about a 19th-century temperance board game. Think roll and move + "the drunkard's path"!!! I'm more of a Euro gamer, but clearly, this is awesome. daily.jstor.org/bring-on-the... #boardgames #saltcon #gencon

A couple at a gym

My favorite is a gym class that's fun & gets me thinking about historiography. I realized I could start a biblio for all my favorite formats. Body combat & hip Hop are easy, but I obviously need to do more reading for Zumba & high fit. Nerdy fun is the best. #culturalHistory

Utah farmers signed up for federally funded therapy. Then the money stopped Farmers are dying by suicide at the third-highest rate by vocation in Utah. But after a federal program offering mental health support ran out of money, the state did not continue it.

Farmers face a high suicide rate in part because of the volatile nature of farming, especially in a dry mountain region like Utah. An in-depth report from @jessicamiller.bsky.social & @propublica.org
