Bring on the Board Games - JSTOR Daily
The increasing secularism of the nineteenth century helped make board games a commercial and ideological success in the United States.
An article from JSTOR Daily about a 19th-century temperance board game. Think roll and move + "the drunkard's path"!!! I'm more of a Euro gamer, but clearly, this is awesome. daily.jstor.org/bring-on-the... #boardgames #saltcon #gencon

A couple at a gym
My favorite is a gym class that's fun & gets me thinking about historiography. I realized I could start a biblio for all my favorite formats. Body combat & hip Hop are easy, but I obviously need to do more reading for Zumba & high fit. Nerdy fun is the best. #culturalHistory

The Deadly Story of the U.S. Civil Service : Throughline

Public history! Dedicated public servants! Personal growth & change! Awesome lady invalids! This episode of Throughline was, unironically, a bit of a patriotism of overload for me--which, of course, I could use right now. #NPR #AmericanHistory
