This is one of the first images I captured as a grad student, and still one of my favorites - a biocytin-filled CA2 pyramidal neuron (green), surrounded by the other CA2 pyramidal neurons (labeled by the PCP4 stain in red). This is the whole span of the tiny CA2 region in the dorsal hippocampus.

I’m new to the addiction neuroscience field, though! My prior work in Dr. Steve Siegelbaum’s laboratory focused on the role of the hippocampal CA2 subfield in epilepsy, and since my final paper from Steve’s lab is finally out in J Neuro, this is a good opportunity to summarize that project!

Hey #neuroskyence folks – time for a bit of an introduction! I’m a postdoc fellow in Dr. Susan Ferguson’s laboratory at the University of Washington, where I’m exploring the regulation of fentanyl self-administration and relapse by prefrontal cortex pyramidal neurons in rats.
