And if the Trump–Netanyahu war against the #IRGC fails to deliver a decisive outcome soon, the world may face something unprecedented:
America holding the oil…
…but the global economy too damaged to buy it.
The clock is ticking.
You lose the right barrels.
Even if the US and Venezuela pump more oil, their crude sits at opposite ends of the spectrum.
That cannot fully replace Middle Eastern supply.
US shale = light, sweet crude
Venezuelan oil = extra-heavy, sour crude
Middle Eastern crude sits in the middle — the grades that produce the diesel, jet fuel, bunker fuel and industrial fuels the world economy runs on.
Lose Middle East supply and you don’t just lose barrels.
Crude oils differ in density and sulphur content.
#Refineries are engineered to process specific blends.
You cannot simply swap one type of crude for another overnight.
#Energy systems don’t work like that.
Some will say there’s a silver lining.
#Trump’s “capture” of #Venezuela for American oil interests could expand supply.
But there’s a problem most people miss:
Oil isn’t just about volume.
It’s about quality.
#WorldWarE(nergy) is already underway.
#Gulf oil and gas north of the #StraitofHormuz is largely offline.
Russian oil is pushed out of open markets and its shadow fleet is under attack.
Which leaves something extraordinary:
The United States as the last major unconstrained #oil producer.

Absolutely. I’ve been an advocate for a reintroduction of national service in Australia for many years. But as I studied our history with the draft, & the political controversies from WWI - Vietnam, I came to the conclusion that it would be completely politically unsellable.
Yes well said. We see the same sorts of obsessions over Trump’s health, though largely from those who aren’t fans. And certainly we are far freer to speculate over Trump’s health than Russians would be over Putin’s.
Thanks Heruy. More needs to be done on this around the world. We see how vulnerable Gulf States are, but in a climate of increasing international crisis, all countries MUST pay more attention to their reserve forces. It’s either that, or a wholesale drive toward conscription.
