6 days since mom's GBS diagnosed, got started Plasmapheresis, though I'm frustrated with the hospital for taking so long to begin treatment; it's supposed to start within 2-3 days after diagnosed!

...still, I'll stay on her side as I can, hope everything is okay.

Now she's currently hospitalized and we're waiting their urgent handling of treatment like IViG or Plasmapheresis if I remember correctly.

We're trying to our national insurance that should coverage the costs, but if not, then the hospital will take it over - which mean it will be charged to us.

The disease started from the foot/legs and it can be spreading upwards, even to the chest, making it hard to speak or breathe - and this is what we're afraid for.

(In just 36 hours after GBS diagnosed, she lost her ability to walk/stand/lift her legs. But GBS isn't same with stroke syndrome).

Life update, in a tough situation..

So, this actually to my mother, who was just diagnosed a Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) where the immune system mistakenly attack the peripheral nerves.
