I had a weird feeling that the @ was also meant as a dogwhistle and looking it up, it seems that they tend to use FOP and FOOP to basically talk about men overtly obsessed with their appearance and also men who aren't masculine enough so it does seem like it's meant as transphobic dogwhistling.
I'm trying to think of Indie Darling that recently messed up and the closest I can think of is Mewgenics with Edmund going on a rant shitting on Chris-chan despite her seemingly not being in the news cycle for a bit and just generally being a POS. BUT I don't know if they used AI in Mewgenics.

I was not aware of that. I knew nothing of the series beyond playing Metal Dogs and finding out it takes place in the same universe, but when I found out I could pilot tanks and it was an RPG? I was sold and spent a good 20 hours playing it and having a blast.
