Electrifying start to Friday with this one. New Daphni also keeping me suitably buzzing today

Great track from Tom Rowlands and Aurora. Can’t wait for the album now
Can appreciate it’s a hard one to switch. I was on Spotify from launch, but it’s much easier to transfer now than it was. Sure you’ll get a fair go of it over the next month or so and can always switch again if someone really hates it.
I think it’s the best anyway! All down to personal preferences but it offers so much for me. The only thing I miss about Spotify is Connect. So many issues with that company but music wise, it went in the bin when they started charging acts for playlist prominence etc.
I’ve been on Apple a few years now and love it. Much better editorial and playlists, dj mixes, radio shows and the classical app. Tidal app was far too buggy any time I tried it. Qobuz pretty good, but gaps in catalogue and I’d really miss all the aforementioned extra stuff Apple gives.
I’d probably guess Brendy will be announced as Wolves manager fairly soon if I was a betting man
That statement from Dermot Desmond is quite something. Intrigued to see the response from Brendan on that one
That’s about the only one I haven’t tried (well settled on Apple Music at this stage), but I’ve heard Qobuz is great
Have you switched to anything else? When they started doing that thing where acts effectively pay for playlist prominence they devalued the service for me, but it has been a catalogue of issues before and after that
Deerhoof are leaving Spotify over CEO Daniel Ek's investment in an AI military startup: "We don’t want our music killing people. We don’t want our success being tied to AI battle tech."
I’ve been jumping across them a wee bit over the last year. As you outline, pros and cons across the board. Primarily been using Apple, but considering YouTube now too - the app isn’t amazing, but the deal with Premium is great. Do you think you’ll stick with YouTube Music?
I just happened to notice it a few nights ago and couldn’t recall seeing it there before.
Seems to be still on mine on Netflix (I don’t have a VPN or anything, so just the standard for Belfast), so you may be able to get some sleep and save it for when you’re back home
Man on the Inside on Netflix really lit up my Monday night with its charms. Saving the last 4 episodes now for a similar lift later in the week.
Whaaat? I was just thinking of th’on fella the other day. Will have to get onto this

Well now, this is a nice surprise for the weekend.
Twitter has worked so well for me that I'm loathe to give it up completely, as yet. Hoping that being over here will introduce new people to Bridge Books! My website is here if you fancy taking a look 🙏

Didn’t get much time for my usual Friday listening…but I did prioritise a few spins of this, and it’s absolutely stunning. She’s so consistent but feels like she’s found a new gear
Ishmael Ensemble completely blew me away. Their albums are great…but I was just not expected that calibre of live performance
Excellent album. Liked it from first listen but it actually keeps getting better every time I hear it. They were stunning in Belfast recently, with new songs that felt like old friends. Feels like there’s so many directions they can go in now
Really great day for music with Ezra Collective, Hayden Thorpe and Gemma Hayes pleasing the ears….but by God this has really cheered me at the end of the day. Not sure what this new Joker film will be like, but I could listen to her do these tunes all day

Jaysus Theresa! Heard nothing of it! I’ve just been informed though that your man from this morning wears a white vest with his pants…and on the really hot days he rolls it up like a bra
Holy moly - I live very close to there and never seen the like of that! Looks like I’ll have to start getting up earlier in the morning to catch all the top sights
Great show from The Last Dinner Party last night. Feels like there’s so many directions they could go now in future. The whole show was strong, but there were maybe about 6 complete bangers that sounded immense in The Telegraph Building
Not sure! Was a Boiler Room event in the Telegraph Building, announced maybe within the last two months or so. Band on at 1am…so it was pretty lively! Hopefully it’ll appear on the Boiler Room YouTube on the next few months
One of the best nights! Have wanted to see Caribou for many moons now…so I was pretty hyped in advance…but that was honestly off the scale
Still buzzing from an incredible Caribou gig in Belfast last night. Everything was perfect - band playing in the middle of the room, sound, production, banger after banger and phenom crowd
Ha, I’m listening to this at the minute and my two thoughts were - I’m not gonna listen to this again and I’m not gonna go to the Belfast gig
Expectations are always high for anything Nick does, but have to say this album has really blown me away
