Every day we get closer to this being real
Spent some time in the last few weeks learning how to do more stuff in Blender. Fixed up a bunch of bad poses so no more nasty hand clipping through guns. Proud of my cute lil roster of goons.
I am not buying a Halo game with traversal stutter every 5 seconds.
AI can enable some really cool shit, its ability to sorta believably vomit back Reddit's response to any given subject definitely aint it.
Hope I get to play some Darktide with Alex when I'm in Europe hahahaha
I really wish this site had spoiler tags so I could post this screenshot without worry but uh, never in my life have I played a game that jumped the shark harder than Silent Hill f. Holy shit I am checked out. We're in "press these buttons to enter Devil Trigger" territory now, fuck me.
I like a lot of the actual gameplay decisions. Breakable weapons, multi use consumables, and the focus meter add a lot to consider in combat. The actual presentation kinda fails for me though. Doing wicked sick counter attacks on a visual prompt is comical to me.
I'm genuinely curious what the average player thinks of the otherworld dungeons. Personally I find them to be super mid, the visual style grew tiring pretty quick as I realized I'm gonna be looking at the same wall and floor textures over and over.
The SH2 remake felt like it found a much better middleground. It's obviously taking stuff from games like The Last of Us but they give you plenty of uninterrupted time to just look around and settle into things. Too bad both of these have serious stuttering problems ๐ซ
These games wanna impress you with a story they tell with high fidelity visuals, and the cost that comes with that is needed to be as mass market friendly as possible. It's like every major presentation decision was basically "idk just do what all those other Sony third person games are doing."
I'm not confident I'm gonna finish Silent Hill f anytime soon. Anything interesting in this game is buried under AAA jank. Getting objectives popping up like EXPLORE THE HOUSE in a SH game is crazy work. It's Silent Hill's "God of War" moment, trading away any originality to become more acceptable.
So yeah expect a media push and some other stuff in the coming weeks. I'm gonna also prob start posting my gaming critiques as this year has given me a lot to think about. Sorry for keeping y'all in the dark, honestly posting shit in public gives me a weird kinda anxiety and I gotta push past that.
That's kinda part of why I've been so quiet, I don't wanna post every single bit of level design progress for people to see before the game's out. I'm thinking maybe sticking to the first two chapters to show the state of the game without giving away the whole experience is a better compromise.
The state of my Patreon etc. tho has been inexcusable. I'm gonna look into a way to try and right that ship and try to figure out how to get people excited about the project again. Inhuman itself is in a good state but needs more content.
Sorry I've been so silent. The good news is work has been really great for me and life has been pretty good. This year I shed a good amount of weight and I've been living a much healthier lifestyle. The bad news is this really cut into my ability to do creative brain intensive stuff in my free time.
Taking its time but its coming.
This is garbage. I hate this shit.
The image that inspired my most popular comic.
This still fucking rocks.

Goddamn whoever made this medkit has gotta be proud of themselves.
This isn't a huge dunk, the game looks awesome in plenty of spots, but I don't think it's an even experience. I assume they're kinda limited by the existing level, or they've opted to keep things as "authentic" as possible, so stuff like this is kinda inevitable I suppose.
Obviously the lighting here looks amazing, but honestly at a glance I don't think you'd even realize anything changed. Of course that also means they've done a good job at preserving the original look, which is great! They have not weirdly redefined the look of HL2 like Black Mesa did to HL1.
HL2 RTX remix has some really amazing assets and effects against very awkward backdrops sometimes. The world textures aren't bad, but the simple level geo really clashes with all this HD goodness. Also leads to odd moments where the game just looks like Half-Life 2 at first glance.
Man that Death Stranding 2 trailer almost had me hype til I had to listen to the characters talking.
"Oh right, a Hideo Kojima game".
Boy X sure is full of fascists huh?
Sorry I've been so quiet, but maybe this will make up for it a lil bit.
