I’m currently reading Amanda Leduc’s “Disfigured: On Fairytales, Disability, and Making Spaces”
I’ve never been so excited to read about council meetings and city planning 😆
You can improve anything with a cup of tea and dragons 🐉
Also love getting to see all these couples in different “seasons” of their relationships.
Cozy & fun! Wonderful audiobook production too.

One of my favorite authors. My childhood copy. I recently had the pleasure of reading my nephew to sleep with it. When books are described as a “rich tapestry” this is what I think of. The poetry of this book, the way magic is like a wandering gaze, a change in perspective, rushing thought.

Started this book as an engaged couple and finished it a few months after our own fantasy wedding. A relatable story, and fun addition to the series. Looking forward to diving right into the next one.

Faizal is still breaking hearts in her second book in the series. She aims straight for the gut, no punches are pulled in her writing. If you like Disshonored or Blades in the Dark, this series will be your cup of tea. Wonderful voice acting in the audiobook version too! #booksky 📚
Finished our bookclub read, oh what fun! Zany, brimming with banter, and paced like a race. I’ve only read a few Terry Pratchett novels, so I was glad to have my husband handy to explain the bits of discworld I was missing. The audiobook was especially fun, the reader did a voice for each character.
Picked up the 2nd installment and was not disappointed. Loved the concept of weremen. Looking forward to book 3

Finished this collection of short stories over a few summers. Good book to take camping- more than a few stories feature a dark wood one shouldn’t get lost in.

"I'm very concerned we are going to see vaccines removed off the (vaccine) schedule..." Expect more cases of measles and possbly even polio, predicts @drdebhoury.bsky.social in an extraordinarily candid interview with @npr.org www.npr.org/2025/09/18/n...
BREAKING: For the sixth time, the US has vetoed a UN Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Every other member of the Security Council voted in favor of the measure.
We must condemn all political violence, regardless of its source.
Sadly, Trump has decided to weaponize the horrific murder of Charlie Kirk for his own political purposes and to go after his critics — while deleting the facts from the DOJ website. Shameful.
BREAKING: Appellate panel stops order to wind down operations at the immigration detention center dubbed “Alligator Alcatraz” in the Florida Everglades.

#FedWorkerFriday meet @drdemetre.bsky.social as he addresses a crowd across from CDC, Aug 28.
He resigned 8/28/25 as Director of National Center for Immunization & Respiratory Diseases at CDC.
He will be missed. We are excited to have him fighting along side us to #savepublichealth & #saveCDC.
🧵Spotted on Market Day in Aotearoa New Zealand:
A small human is wearing hot pink sunglasses that allow her to be naughty when she puts them on and NO ONE CAN SEE!
But what is this?!
Dad has a pair of naughty SPOTTING sunglasses?!
Oh no!
Hmm. Maybe they're PRINCESS sunglasses instead. (1)
Happy to hear this is being shut down. Thankful for the Miccosukee Tribe and judges that still remember what human rights are and how to uphold them. Investing in concentration camps is always a waste of money, but more importantly it’s a waste of human life.

AI doesn’t care if you live or die. It should not supersede a medical professional’s recommendation for care. Check the fine print on your health apps - company’s using AI to make decisions on claims are profiting from human suffering and using tech to avoid accountability.
The black butterfly of Baltimore will have blue dotted wings if Trump decides to test this. This move is clearly not about crime rates. It’s about hauling off our neighbors to detention centers while wasting National Guard resources. What is happening in DC is a gross abuse of power.
Pressure is needed from practices, patients, legislators, and employers who carry Cigna. I’m writing to HR, and my state legislators to voice my concerns and ask that the policy be withdrawn before October 1st.
CMA urges Cigna to withdraw unlawful and burdensome downcoding policy url:https://www.cmadocs.org/newsroom/news/view/ArticleId/50953/CMA-urges-Cigna-to-withdraw-unlawful-and-burdensome-downcoding-policy
If the policy is not rescinded this could cause healthcare providers to drop Cigna.
The most digestible book I’ve ever read from a law professor. Highly recommend
Tea, romance, action! If you like Blades in the Dark or Dishonored you’ll enjoy this book. Excited to read what’s next in this series. The husband and wife interview at the end was a really cute bonus on the audiobook version too!
What a tale! ST was wonderful, his love of humanity even at their worst was so endearing. Made me put down my phone and pay more attention to my cat.
I want every elected official there today and arrest everyone working that illegal facility.
"The crowd chants 'Don’t take the mother!' over and over again as the daughter keeps trying to get back on the hood of the car. More Worcester cops arrive, all helping the ICE agents carry out their rotten senseless work." www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
I salute the 600 Naval Academy grads who released a letter condemning Trump's book bans at the Academy.
At this week's Board meeting, I moved to reverse the ban & made clear I won’t give up the fight. Are we really afraid to have midshipmen read Maya Angelou’s “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings”?
