Text Today, I signed an executive order establishing the first-ever Mayor’s Office of LGBTQIA+ Affairs and appointing the brilliant Taylor Brown as Director. Queer New Yorkers deserve to be not just protected, but celebrated in this city. Together, we will fight for their right to live a life of dignity, safety, and unabashed pride.

I do want to say as someone that organizes both in person & virtual events that it is actually not easy at all to organize hybrid events. They are costly, for one & many people don't want to pay for events. Secondly, a virtual event is different than an in person one so it's like planning 2 events.

Note that a one-round election with no primary or RCV (or anything to mitigate the FPTP of it all) is a pretty poor system.
