I don't think people understand how fast LLMs can be updated.
For instance, I've seen Google's matrix for search engines update within minutes of posting new content. This could be catastrophic for some labs.
Part of the problem for me is that the reviewer uploaded our scientific content to an AI model to be scraped, PRIOR to publication.
This is a major problem.
They also effectively lied by claiming the work of an AI agent as their own without disclosing they used an AI agent.
<sigh>
One reviewer used AI to review our manuscript.
How do we know?
Suggested papers to cite that do not exist. Some titles correct, but everything else is wrong or just fabricated out of whole cloth.
Requested citations for things I’ve said in review papers that were citing other papers.
Yes I’d like to see them be held to some accountability as in having their business destroyed by lawsuits.

I've talked about this here before, but my experience as a journalism instructor is that Grammarly makes students' writing worse. This was true even several years ago, pre-GenAI hype. The mushy, even incoherent sentences it created were what caused me to start warning them off it.

Hilde the cat is in an underground chamber, in which a ghost cat is sealed inside a black Dome. The Dome is surrounded by six slots in which six gems can be inserted, although only four are currently in place. Hilde carries the fifth pink gem to one of the slots and inserts it. It has some sort of effect on the wall of the Dome, but doesn't get rid of it completely. Hilde knocks on it to see that it's still solid. She tries to use her magic staff to erase it but it zaps back at her.
