Is anyone able to help me make sense of the teeny tiny template IAPAC provides for e-posters? (13.33" x 7.5") What size screens are these posters presented on? Should I really be thinking computer-monitor-sized and not traditional-academic-poster sized?

The speed at which NIH is terminating in-progress HIV-related grants is truly horrifying. This is not a shift in future prioritiesβthey are abruptly cutting off studies originally competitively funded because of their high scientific impact that are already underway. taggs.hhs.gov/Content/Data...

π¨ Everyone needs to call their Dem Senator right now. They are starting to cave.
Tell them:
1. Vote NO on Cloture
AND
2. Vote NO on the Republican spending bill.
Donβt let them pivot to reconciliation. GOP doesnβt need Dem votes on that and they know it.
TODAY is the showdown.

Exclusive: NIH to terminate hundreds of active research grants
Studies that touch on LGBT+ health, gender identity and DEI in the biomedical workforce could be terminated, according to documents obtained by Nature.
Wow is this bleak. It would be distressing enough were they revising guidelines on what could be funded going forward, but this effort to cancel or redirect ongoing science (into which resources have already been invested) is surreal. www.nature.com/articles/d41...

It's definitely super weird that basically no NIH grant renewals are being issued (based on NIH Reporter). 19 total grants (new or renewed) with NOAs in the 1st 7 days of Feb. this year, versus 850 in 2024 and 1196 in 2021 (last change of administration). Zero NOAs 2/3-2/7.

FYI, this is the updated instruction I received for an NIH review panel this month: "To align with new Administration guidance, effective immediately, reviewers must not evaluate, score, or factor into their final scoring, the Plan for Enhancing Diverse Perspectives (PEDP) in applications."
