Abolish Business Schools!

Snatching Venezuelan Oil and Greenland: Lessons for Students on Imperialism We shouldnโ€™t assume that students understand the consequences of imperialism. I have spent 12 of my 28 years in higher education working in top business schoolsโ€”three in graduate admissions and nine as a tenured professor. I especially love teaching and mentoring MBA students, in part because I know that most of them are going to ascend to leadership in corporations, government agencies and other organizations in the future. I want them to leave my classrooms with the practical skills required to solve complex contemporary business problems.

"I want students to enter leadership roles with the right values. Prioritizing profits over everything at all costs is not one of them." โ€”Shaun Harper in his article for Inside Higher Ed

We just saw this, and itโ€™s a good idea for businesses to post. Private businesses are allowed to set dress and conduct rules. Requiring no full face coverings has long been standard for safety and loss prevention reasons, and it is within a businessโ€™s rights to refuse entry or service.

Michael Alcรฉeโ€™s โ€œStalking the Linda Pastan Poemโ€ reflects on the echoes of poetic influence, tracing how one voice leads us into our own. Itโ€™s both homage and exploration โ€” a meditation on lineage, art, and the poems that shape us.

Heath Dollarโ€™s โ€œThe Ones That Love Youโ€ dives into the heart of a family divided by politics, love, and history. The story wrestles with the contradictions of loyalty, ideology, and what it means to love โ€” and be loved โ€” across irreconcilable divides.

Inside the Yale Peabodyโ€™s ornithology lab, Elaina Foley asks what โ€œcareโ€ means when preservation smells like power. Refusing sterile distance, she turns toward the tender, unruly work of decayโ€”an ethics that lets the โ€œlively deadโ€ transform our relations with the more-than-human.
