Tank bromeliads collect rainwater between their leaves, creating tiny freshwater habitats high up in trees. These natural mini-ponds support life like crabs, blue earthworms, frogs, lizards, insects and even birds.
After Hurricane Melissa, many bromeliads were dislodged from trees

There is always something interesting happening outside.
What do you think is going on with these two Loggerhead Kingbirds?
Is it romance? Someone being fed? Or somebody got caught doing something they shouldn't? ππ¦

Big up to @Sanzisart for sharing this amazing photo of Jamaicaβs Northern Potoo π―π²πΏ.
Many people believe that it is an owl but itβs actually not one.
The Northern Potoo is a night bird that feeds mostly on flying insects and uses incredible camouflage to blend in like a broken branch.

What do you think these John Crows are talking about this morning? π
John Crows often warm up in the morning sun, which may help reduce parasites on their feathers.
They also play an important role as natureβs clean-up crew, removing dead animals from the environment.

Thanks to @The_Badger_jm for sharing this cool photo of a stick insect from St Andrew Jamaica π―π²πΏ
Stick insects behave just like their name. They mimic twigs and branches to hide from predators. Around 8 species have been reported from Jamaica but they are rarely seen.

Take a pic or video of a beautiful creature from your surroundings.
I will start with this beautiful Tropical house gecko (Hemidactylus mabouia) naturally found in Africa and was introduced to Jamaica likely by human activities.

A little βbag of fluffβ perched beside its parents β a chick of the endemic Jamaican Owl
Did you know? In Jamaican folklore, some people believed that Old Higue could transform into an owl at night β moving silently through the darkness to spy on people or even drink blood from sleeping victims.
