Luckily, there are still so many amazing people putting in so much hard work to save lives & prevent suffering!
It's easy to get demoralized about every animal you can't help, but remembering the hundreds of thousands of little differences made in human and animal lives is what's important.
I worked in community cat management and vetmed for years. With COVID, the decline in new vets, and more and more vets going into specializations instead of spending the first few years after school at a shelter, SO many years of progress was destroyed in just a few years. It was devastating.
