Not blaming the buyers so much as the guys in βFinancingβ
Wow. Negative equity? This seems predatory. How does one owe more money than the vehicle costs? Vehicles depreciate quickly but thatβs just out of line.
Youβre a good man! Youβre putting your wealth (and heart) to a good purpose. I keep forgetting that in the US, itβs so much harder for people (especially single moms). They donβt have the same supports there that we have in Canada (child care benefits, subsidized daycare, welfare programs).
Iβm glad I do not live in the USA. :)
Hence why GoFundMe is the American Healthcare system.
Youβre amazing. Iβm glad you can help watch children while the moms go to school.
She hid behind the Japanese barracks and picked up Japanese while her mom and brother were starving in their hut. Then she walked in and asked for a job in Japanese and then took home leftover rice and fish tails for her starving mother and brother. I guess my legacy is my Autism. :)
My grandma was autistic and could pick up languages. She knew how to do math without an education and helped farmers with accounting and got paid in food (and got fat). Her fat stores helped her survive when the Japanese took over her village and stole everything (food and all)β¦.
My motherβs grandma was the only literate person in her village in China. She basically was the knowledge storehouse, and her home had books (when people couldnβt read) and she would teach people in her home.
LOL. Oh man 40 years?????? Thatβs incredible. Now I may go down a rabbit hole of the oldest edible foods β¦ like the older sourdough starter?
My friend actually paid for tuition for his friendβs daughter.
But it sounds like youβre a generous person. Did you step in to help with the child?
Is your grand niece the one talking about not going to college? I have a friend, and he helps raise his friend (a single mom)βs daughter. Personally, I donβt know if I would fully support because itβs almost rewarding bad decision making, but if you have the finances and driveβ¦.
Oh man. That IS good soup. You know soup gets good when it takes more than 24 hours to boil. Hahahah. The best pho bases are like that. I wonder what the record isβ¦24 years?
LOL. Thankfully, I donβt mind real estate but in my perimenopausal state, I sometimes just want to ditch ALL the responsibilities (houses, home, partners) and just live free and single, renting a cheap apartment with good charging for my car.
Some HK stuff is good (like the good congees and such). :) but not the ham and macaroni soup. Or the ketchup spaghetti. But I think those were the things that the HK population made to be connect with their colonizers. The political history of that food is intriguing.
Goals. My other cousin also retired at 50 (the accountants older brother). I wanted to try FIRE but no chance. Too much debt (from properties). Playing the long game. LOL.
Growing up in Canada, I didnβt get to eat Asian food as much because mom cooked the colonial HK food. Do you remember the ham macaroni soup? That sucked.
So when I learned about viet, Thai, Japanese and Korean food I knew I actually liked Asian food, just not that bland HK stuff. :)
Itβs too bad Iβm AuDHD with social anxiety. Hahaha. But in a field where we all have autism, Iβm the second most outgoing (because of the ADHD).
I like the control. LOL. The meat can be as raw as I want for K-BBQ and hot pot. Although, I donβt pay to go out to eat it, I just host it at home and have my friends bring over the expensive stuff (oysters, etcβ¦).
Thatβs why my cousin (tiny 4β11β Chinese girl) also picked up golf and drinking in bars. Sheβs now working with the richest clients as a partner in her accounting firm. Sheβs so extremely successful and Iβm just incredibly proud of my family.
But I live in Alberta, Canada. And the town of Mundare (outside my city) is known for their Ukrainian meat products. They have the best garlic sausage rings Iβve ever tasted. We have a huge Ukrainian and polish population. Even my βstepkidsβ have Ukrainian heritage and loooooooove their perogies.
Not giving up my canto-food and other Asian food. Nothing beats a good Bun Bo Hue or pho, or even an HK cafe. I still make congee for lunch almost daily. I canβt handle the western dairy and cholesterol, but in my Caucasian era, I have had two milkshakes this month (and Iβm lactose intolerant).
My HRT (estrogen) makes my collagen stores rehydrate and all my fascia are back to being elastic (hence disappearing pain), and also is protective against my osteoarthritis (slows it down) and so I donβt worry about the diuretic effect of the coffee as much. LoL
And I also had a doctor believe my health condition and prescribe me what I wanted (early hormone therapy for perimenopause) which ended up curing my pain. And because the HRT works so well, I feel secure in the coffee consumption. LOL.
Oh, and Iβm also drinking sugary coffee on an empty stomach and relying on them for both nutritional and hydration requirements. The dehydration really makes my wrinkles popβ¦.
To clarify, I HATE asking people for money. I think itβs absolutely rude and invasive. I would rather just fundraise by paying myself. (I.E. I will buy a $150 case of chocolates, but not to sell it).
Add on to that, I got a promotion with βextra incrementsβ for my work being recognized!
I feel like this is privilege Iβve never experienced before. My dad worked twice as hard and never once promoted because itβs expected that Asians have high work ethic.
You know many people are in their Chinese era? Not me, Iβm hitting my peak Caucasian era. Iβm developing the audacity of a white person (caucacity) - fundraising for my sonβs bowling league by asking my school administrators to order locally processed Ukrainian foods (perogies, sausages, etcβ¦).
So for the future: look for women to be your GP, your chances of being believed for your symptoms will be higher.
