Snippet of two marriage certificates
I've been waiting for a 2nd marriage certificate to arrive, it's here so time to continue the research I've been doing for a client.

Oh yes how often have we heard that πππ
Thanks Liz. The overseers accounts are unlikely to be with workhouse records as they are part of the parish records and the Old poor law system (pre-1834). After that's you may find records of out-relief in the workhouse records that was similar. Workhouse Minute books are worth checking too.
The first post for my new blog is the first of a series (not sure how many yet) on moving on from the online Genealogy sites to explore additional records in the archives.

You'll like the FH customisation bit π can't totally replicate the RH associations, but I have got it working well enough. Will be showing a Criminal Factset and showing how we can record a newspaper clipping about a crime which then links to 3 other people.
Are you looking for a speaker? I've been talking this year a lot about #OnePlaceStudies but can look at other subjects. One that I'm considering is "Poor Law Union and Asylum Records", I've been using these a lot in the last 18 months and they are fascinating.

Coming soon a new blog for The Lineage Finder. The first post will explore the records used to create this story.
Hampshire Archives has a rich collection of records that relate to the Poor Law Unions, they can be rich in information about one's ancestors.

Personally, I'm not a fan of Thrulines as you can't dismiss the ones that you know are wrong. For this reason I rarely look at them.
I was just thinking the same after reading this interesting post
Been wanting too for ages, at least now done should be able to find what I want and avoid duplicates. Handy app as well as website so can check when out if you have a book.
Thank you
Thanks to the @andoveradvertiser.bsky.social for their post about The Lineage Finder.

Extract from Whitchurch Union Minute Books 26 Dec 1904 re. Rhoda Goodyear
There will be a blog coming soon to The Lineage Finder and today doing some more work on a Poor Law Case Study I want to share.
By accident earlier this year I discovered the case of Rhoda Goodyear. Now I'm transcribing all the documents gathered to discover her story.

Yep, I can cover other areas, but I go to the Hampshire Archives regularly
