I also thought kicking an XP down 13 was a mistake vs going for 2. Down 11 is one TD + one FG. Down 12 you need two TDs. Seemed an easy decision to me?

A few years ago we were hosting Christmas Dinner. We ordered some food catered and it included 24 rolls. We remember having them in the house in a plastic bag, on Christmas Day. Dinner time came and they were nowhere to be seen. Mystifying to this day. We looked for weeks!

Isn’t it illegal touching once GB touches the ball so there is no risk to Gibson trying to advance it?

Just some feedback that your new BSKY post format is really terrible. Large gap in the middle of your post with a second paragraph that is incomplete and usually is just click-bait worded to try and get you to the article. Please stop this format.

Vote suppression is such an American tradition, news media barely reported on it, & when they did, rarely framed it properly. But it’s the biggest factor behind ‘24 results (other than anti-incumbent zeitgeist)
Now that more numbers are in, an overview:

Drafting a disclaimer for an LLM chatbot…

Persistent alerty button under the chat fields:

Do not use this output without confirming it.

Which pops a modal with the following:

Recent research confirms that the output of LLMs are inaccurate and lead to a reduction in critical thinking.

Idgaf I’m still fighting for guaranteed healthcare.

Aspiration is the answer. Not just “we’re not the bad guys.”

We need something more meaningful than that. I want a future worth fighting for. They have no vision. We do. Lean into our strengths and knock them out. 👊🏽

Don’t the Eagles have one? It doesn’t post everything on X but it posts a bunch and seems official?

When ChatGPT summarises, it actually does nothing of the kind. One of the use cases I thought was reasonable to expect from ChatGPT and Friends (LLMs) was summarising. It turns out I was wrong. What ChatGPT isn’t summarising at all, it only looks like it…

"ChatGPT isn't summarising at all, it only looks like it.
What it does is something else and that something else only becomes summarising in very specific circumstances."

Eagles also didn’t recover it, so just a 5 yard diff.

Dear Mark,
I hope this finds you well. I noticed something interesting today - it seems Instagram is blocking links to my little open-source project. You know, the one that lets people share photos without harvesting their personal data or forcing algorithmic feeds on them.
I have to admit, I'm flattered. Who would've thought a small team of volunteers could build something that would catch your attention? We're just trying to give people a choice in how they share their memories online. No VCs, no surveillance capitalism, just code and community.
Remember when Facebook started? It was about connecting people, not maximizing engagement metrics. Our project might be tiny compared to Instagram, but we're staying true to that original spirit of social media - giving people control over their online presence without turning them into products.
You could've ignored us. Instead, by blocking our links, you've given us the best endorsement we could ask for. You've confirmed what we've been saying all along - that big tech is more interested in protecting their walled gardens than fostering genuine innovation.
Every time you block a link to our platform, you remind people why we built it in the first place. Your action tells them there are alternatives worth exploring, ones that respect their privacy and agency. So thank you, Mark. You've turned our little project into a symbol of resistance against digital monopolies.

@dansup.bsky.social , who is the founder of pixelfed, sent this letter to Mark Zuckerberg/Meta regarding their blocking of links to Pixelfed.

MAD Magazine cover in which MAD is spelled MA.I.D
GIVING A.I. THE MIDDLE FINGERS

Image shows a hand with six fingers with the middle two fingers pointed up.

Remember to always pay real artists. They hate drawing hands as much as A.l. does — but unlike A.I., artists count.

Two years ago, I marveled at how easy it was to get travel info about esoteric towns via the internet. So much useful UGC. This time, it’s been hell. Search returns AI bullshit, outdated reddit content, trip advisor spam, and gobs of autogenerated crap. Finding accurate info is impossible. Le sigh.

There is no guarantee “Generative AI” will improve enough to categorically be what its vendors (lie) say it is.

But there’s a very good chance it will be weaponized by the ownership class for “keeping up with competitors,” grift, sunk-cost fallacy, and intimidating workers with job replacement

Barkley's leg churn on that play was crazy. Just puts his head down and steamrolls forward for 7 yards. I feel like that's a 2-3 yard gain for most backs.

I've been seeing a lot of people on the left and right talking about the 2024 election as if it was a landslide.

So I made this chart to put things in context.

Trump's win was one of the smallest in modern history.
