You seem angry at me for having a different opinion, Andy. Not sure I can do much about that.
Of course it isn’t.
But I am certain that my eyes haven’t been deceiving me when I say that we were worsening game by game.
I’ll say it AGAIN, I didn’t want him sacked, I can just understand why he has been.
I understand that, Rosie. I didn’t want him to be sacked, but emotion aside, I can see why he has been. He’s not been able to offer any encouragement that he can find an answer to halting our inextricable slide to L1. Eventually, even with DB’s links and previous success, something has to give.
Every Christmas needs a Grinch. I left QPR thinking that the end was nigh for him. Yesterday’s second half was the final nail, I think.
We waited 25 years to get to The Championship and it’s clear that we weren’t going to survive under DB. We got worse with every returning player. Surviving at this level, particularly with the stadium decision in sight, is more important than one man. I feel for him, but something had to change.
As a one off, the result yesterday doesn’t bother me. I’m concerned about the steady decline, though. Have injuries contributed? Yes, but what’s clear is that key players from last season are not making the step up. Boro were good, but they didn’t have to work hard enough for such a victory.
