The massive rise in Islamophobia, consciously fuelled by large sections of the media, is a national disgrace.
I'd love to hear the PM and LOTO speak out about this and the dangers of white supremacy but ....crickets

Increasingly clear that the future of the species hinges on the American/Israeli empire collapsing before the climate does

Aunty ABC seems to be unaware that no-one outside Sydney (i.e. 21-22 million people) give a flying fig about Kyle & Jacki. Yawn!
You can tell how much Labor and the Coalition care about the poor Iranians by the way they hastily built a series of offshore concentration camps to imprison Iranian refugees *forever* when they tried to escape the regime.
Graphic promoting a βParliamentary Friends of ME/CFS Meetingβ with hashtag #FairGoForME. Three speech bubbles clipped to a clothesline read βWeβ, βneedβ, βyouβ in blue, red and green. Logos along the bottom include Bridges & Pathways, Emerge Australia, MEANA, ME/CFS Australia, and Myalgic Encephalomyelitis Group Australia.

Stop pretending to be dumb: the Iran War is about Greater Israel, not βliberationβ theshot.net.au/uncategorize...
Well put!
Too many to count.
Be warned, @davemilbo.bsky.social is an equal opportunity curser, equally adept with swearwords from 4 to 7 letters!
He's also adept at excoriating the hypocrisy & BS currently surrounding the "liberation of Iran" war. Don't forget #SundayShot #auspol

'Our Prime Minister is making us all complicit, and heβs banking on you being too stupid to notice, or too detached and stressed trying to afford things that make you feel good to give a shit about the next round of global imperial slaughter.'
Australians are so poorly served by our media, bamboozled into dumbfuckery. Please, in your day to day lives, help people understand what's really happening. Bloodthirsty pro-war propaganda, both subtle (ABC) and frothy,l (everyone else) is going to drown out truthful reporting.

Universally, I think we hold "somewhat leftish" to an unfathomably higher standard than Neo-Nazis and the far right. We expect a lot of the former, and absolutely nothing from the latter.
How very amusing that a car news account followed me. I don't even drive π #WTF
An Abbott comeback is a singularly depressing prospect π€’
Australia is built on immigration. The economy *still* relies heavily on immigration. New migrants make it better, stronger. Building new housing and infrastructure would help everyone.
Every major political party: We will cut immigration.
Mainstream media: But can you be as racist as Pauline?

It's ruthlessly efficient, that's for sure π
Here's what'll happen. Labor will get its lowest ever primary vote at the next election. "Centrist" rusted-ons will blame lefties, instead of themselves, because liberalism is political narcissism drenched in sanctimony, and shit will just keep getting worse.
I think younger ppl today need to know about it, to be reminded how fragile democracy can be, even in a politically stable place like Australia. And Gen Xers like me grew up in the aftermath of the Dismissal, but don't always know the ins and outs of it.
Does anyone following #auspol know whether the ABC SBS is doing anything to mark the 50th anniversary of the Dismissal? Maybe I've missed the promos or I'm too early, but 11/11 is not far away and I've heard diddly squat π€

Sidenote: Did you know that the NACC employs over 200 people, spends over $50m per year, has 5 offices, and in over two years of operations hasn't landed a single major corruption finding?
I interviewed historian @emmashortis.bsky.social on the particulars of American fascism, comparisons with Nazism, the global crisis of democracy, and Australia's options. None of this is particularly cheery stuff, but you might find some clarity in it.
