It seems to have worked?! For the most part I have been on my computer all day and haven’t had a single crash!! I’m yet to test the waters with editing because that’s when 💩 hits the fan but I’m hoping it should be okay, thank you for the advice! 🫶🏼

You’re a Gem!! I’m looking to get the i9-12900KS, but going to hold off until I’m back from my trip so I can test the waters properly with it rather than it being just sat in a box for a week, last night I faffed with my bios and turned off turbo mode alongside my cores cache limit, and (1)

Also something to note - 📝
⭕️ Bios are up to date
⭕️ All drivers are up to date
⭕️ It’s not only the sims but I struggle to export videos without them failing and crashing the computer
⭕️ when I record video I use OBS and just have it in a H.264 codec in 1080p which is a .mp4 output

This ended up being a short novel but if anyone can give me any advice or know of someone that can, please let me know
I’m just a girl who wants to play the sims

I just ran my system through memory diagnostic and it detected no problems so with this and all things considered, is it just my GPU that’s faulty? I’m literally just a girl who wants to play the sims

I ran my pc through “who crashed” around an hour ago and it then said it could be either be memory corruption, or my software?? (the software that crashes is Google/premiere pro or the sims) so I’m a bit confused

So now I’m thinking it’s a GPU issue, because alongside this my monitors will constantly flicker despite lowering the refresh rate, and after hearing advice from someone else, it could be a faulty graphics card, fab here we go again

It’s now gotten to the point where the pc would crash multiple times in a hour when I’m either editing/ playing games/ ect and now when I’m recording for YouTube my clips have started to have tearing/glitches in them which doesn’t appear on my monitor but only the recording

Again, random crashing/ blue screens/ fans that sound like they are gonna take off and send me to mars kinda problems
At this point I was just getting crashes and just accepting it because I’ve been through it with computers and I was willing to take the L despite forking out a few quid on this pc

Thankfully, in around August intel released a bios update to fix the random crashes, and it did seem to help, and then maybe like 6 weeks or so later I then started having more bloody problems

This was summer of last year so now there is a ton more info on them but basically my CPU was widely known to have serious issues, and I couldn’t downgrade it because my motherboard that I had only supported 1/2 generations of cpus before the one I had - and then other supported ones where also bad

Let’s just say I invested in this computer, because of future proofing and it came back to bite me in the behind, because some of the parts where so new there was next to no info on them online from other people (again big bloody mistake)

Pc part picker said I was good and everything was compatible ect, so I ordered all the different components for my computer, alongside with a case
Now because my first computer was a little bit future proof, i decided to do the same for this now third one (big bloody mistake)

For the now third pc, I asked for advice from every person I could think of for what I should go for/ what works well
Once I had a bit of an idea what I was doing I then ran all my pc parts through pc part picker to make sure they were all compatible and would go nice together

When I sent it back, I decided to this time round to build my next computer myself, honestly half the reason was to avoid having to send anything half way around the country and back every few weeks

Eventually, most of my computer components had been replaced because they were giving to me faulty, and I got it back for the last time and once again was still having crashes/ export issues/ random blue screens ect, so I decided as I was still within my warranty to send it back

Also in this time period my computer literally got lost in the post/mail for 2 weeks, let me tell you I was STRESSED but it was sitting at a depot all along so that was a rollercoaster within itself

Pretty much over these 3/4 months, they found that a lot of the parts I was initially given where faulty, and I would send it away to get it looked at, they found a problem, replaced it, sent it back to me. Then I would get it back, still have issues or different ones and the cycle would repeat

Very much long story cut short but for around 3/4 months through so many phone calls (literally got on a first name basis with the guys who worked there 😭) I had to send this second pc back more times than I can even count, dpd man also joked about the amount of times he had sent this big box back

When I got this second PC, she was good, for about a month and then this one started having issues
Constantly lagging in games, crashing and closing applications & then also would blue screen at random points (literally even on google) so I got in contact with the pc company that I made it

I then decided to finally get a whole new pc because she was so old the parts all needed a upgrade, so I got then my second PC, which I built through a company, who then shipped me the PC

I had my old editing pc from uni & she served me well for around 5 years, straight from the box, never upgraded it and she just trotted along, she then got to the point where she had been through years of constant use and was getting so slow, and I would have to turn her off every 2 hours for a rest
