World weather attribution rapid study on the two-week Fennoscandian heatwave is out.
The key results do not surprise:
1) the heatwave was ∼2 °C hotter and
2) at least 10 times more likely due to climate change.

Continuous probability distributions for June mean temperature in Helsinki for 1900, 2025 and 2050 climates. The 2050 climate is calculated assuming SSP2-4.5 scenario.
During these relatively cool months in Helsinki, it’s good to remember it would have been even colder without climate change.
In today's climate, a June this cold occurs once per 9 years, but in 1900 it used to be every other year.
