Speaking in the House of Lords on the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill, Bishop David @bishmanchester.bsky.social expressed his support for the Bill and the opportunity it presents to address adverse childhood experiences.

Today we mark the eighth anniversary of the Manchester Arena terror attack, which claimed 22 lives and left many others seriously injured. We pray for all those affected; for bereaved families and friends; for those who were injured and for the people of Manchester as we grieve and remember.

The first amendment seeks to extend the Decent Homes Standard to all temporary accommodation provided under the Housing Act 1996. Currently, over 117,000 households—including many families with children—are living in temporary accommodation. @bishmanchester.bsky.social
