Nice! I remember when the 6 train consisted of Red Birds.

I remember reading all of the fake news coverage of the Glomar Explorer and its deep sea mining. They really had it backstopped.
I wanted to commend Mike Johnson on being the first blind Speaker of the House, but according to Google AI, Mike Johnson's frequent "I haven't seen it" response is a documented rhetorical habit rather than an indication of a visual impairment. My bad.
Sorry. He had a good run in a well-planted tank and never had to sit in pet store jail. So there's that...
I'm reading Vonnegut's rant about the "W" administration in "Man Without a Country" and wondering what he would have to say about the current state of affairs. Buddy, you ain't seen nothing yet.
What a fantastic shot. Makes me homesick for the waterfront.
Fantastic!
It's not pointless. It's targeted to eliminate opposing points of view and clear the path for industrial profits.
She's still expecting to bump her head into the plastic cup.
This instrument is why they pushed JPSS-4 ahead of JPSS-3 in the launch order.
This is just the tip of the iceberg. The effects of this will propagate through the scientific research community for years to come.
A plein air watercolour drawing of the Thames looking towards Blackfriars bridge from 1995.
As the previous watercolour drawing of the Thames from 1993 received a good response here's another from a similar spot a couple of years later. #watercolour #London #TheThames
Piccard's bathyscaphe Trieste was on display at the Naval Yard in DC. I tried to visit, but lacked the military credentials to gain access. I tried a few years later and learned that the museum had fallen into disrepair since it was no longer open to the public and Trieste was likely to be scrapped.
That historic Bathysphere was on display at the NY Aquarium back in the 70s. It was off to the side, behind the building with the shark tank, with not even a plaque to describe what it was. I wonder if it is still there?
Word if advice for anyone with a level of public recognition: never say youβre leaving your post/job/seat to spend more time with your family even if you ARE actually leaving to spend more time with your family.

Educational publishers are a scourge.
Two panel comic. Panel 1: a sunfish in a dress is in front of a bedroom mirror on a dresses. She says to another sunfish out of frame, βplease donβt tell me you forgot our date night.β Panel 2: the other sunfish stares at her blankly with a gigantic chunk missing from its head.
My wife was wondering how they got that cane field set up so quickly before she realized they were people in costumes.
A plot of temperature anomalies averaged over the global ocean, down to 1900 meters, since 2004 measured by Argo. The charted anomalies range from -0.15 Β°C represented by blue colors to +0.5Β°C represented by red colors. While temperatures in the upper ~600 meters fluctuate with shorter-term climate events like El NiΓ±o-Southern Oscillation, deeper waters display a consistent warming trend. This deep signal is indicative of an overall warming of Earthβs climate.
I heard in a seminar today the US contributions to Argo are being suspended, but I can't find anything on the web that backs the assertion. Can anyone with first-hand knowledge confirm or deny this?
Breaking news: Winter in the Northeast US is colder than Summer in Antarctica.
The Short Form was pretty exciting, but I can't wait to see the Freestyle Booing J.D. Vance event.
That's why they call it the Golden Hour...

No joke: I got angry hate mail today for writing an obituary of a Black woman scientistβbecause the person felt she did didnβt deserve the recognition.
Which just makes me want to share it again: www.nature.com/articles/d41...

She's technically correct. I don't expect there were many tickets for Star Wars sold this weekend.
The problem is that it's all circumstantial evidence.
The unfortunate circumstance being that Trump is a child raper.
