Thank you, Michael!
Thank you, Michael!
Meanwhile, Wall Street traders jittery about the war are scouring the Epstein files to find out if Trump is the type to pull out before finishing and leave a mess behind.
Sometimes the muse has ADHD. I woke up at 5:30 in the morning on Monday with a head full of ideas for a short story I'd been pondering. After a few days of development notes, I was going to start writing that story today, but I woke up with a head full of a song that needed writing.
Itβs like when I see a Trump bumper sticker on the highway and have to pull up along side just to see what a person operating a motor vehicle with no brain in their head looks like.
Story meeting notes: does it slow things down too much to have these two finally talk through their relationship during the series climax? What if the convo happens in a monster bukkake escape room?!
Twenty odd years ago when I was in deep despair over the Iraq war, I never would have imagined that the day after Dick Cheney died NYC would elect a Muslim mayor. Time may not heal all wounds, but it heals something, and the future remains unknowable.
The secret is being so utterly unconcerned with ever having to win an election again that you have no interest in improving your lying game. And thatβs what should terrify us.
Iβve bought and read all of the Proof books youβve published in hardcover but I donβt read long works on a computer. Do you have any plans to release this on kindle? Iβd grab that in a heartbeat. Thanks
Took our son for a campus tour of MIT today. I was not expecting it to be an emotional experience for me, but it was genuinely moving to hear them articulate a mission of cultivating people who will improve the world at the intersection of the sciences and humanities. Felt radical!
I actually mail ordered that in the 80s by ripping an order page out of the back of one of his other paperbacks. So excited when it arrived in that pre-internet era!
I'm tired of winter and tired of the world and I just wish someone would lock me in a cozy room with all of the books I've collected and not read yet. Four years would be ideal, but I'll settle for four months.
Last night my car did a slow motion spin on the snow and ended up ass first in the middle of an intersection. Luckily, the roads were pretty empty, but the one other driver waiting at the light was surely entertained.
My sensei brought me a sword back from Japan. Garden gnomes better not start any shit with me!
Currently reading The Rack, a vintage style horror anthology edited by @horrortom.bsky.social. Great variety of fun stories from some of the best writers working in the genre today.
I'm a little jealous of our cat for her ignorance of the wider world. She's happy with her local government. Food, water, and sanitation are managed in a mostly punctual manner. Her only complaint is that the guy in charge of homeland security (the dog) is a paranoid, hair-trigger lunatic.
Burned my Xitter account a while ago and finally got around to planting a flag here post election. I write scary stories but don't want to live in one. Here's hoping Bluesky is pretty blue.
