OS maps is the best for discovering footpaths, bridleways but also open access land. They do a 2 week free trail of the app. Strava heatmaps is also a good to cross reference.

Since I took up running regularly about 15 years ago I have just done running as training. Struggled with focus to do anything else. Now with 3 kids time is a massive factor - Iβm currently mulling over getting a rower to add in some strength training that I will actually be motivated to do!
