Goodness me. Ofsted not bothering to hide its priorities.

@stillawake17.bsky.social - fyi apparently 8 inspectors turned up the day after the MP wasn't allowed in.
Excellent point. He betrayed the most vulnerable children before the Greens were even in power. He and other key Greens have been Labour enablers from the start.
A very merry Christmas to you too 🙂
Better to be depressed than hopeful about Bristol City Council, I find. It limits the disappointment.
For 2026, @bristolgreenparty.bsky.social has promised more cuts to SEND while taking money from the same budget to investigate the officers who spied on SEND mothers.
The cuts are being dictated by consultants, Newton Europe, who the Greens are selling off assets to pay their fees of millions.
Oh dear Greens.
This is 'as bad as each other' territory.
They are arguably worse than the rest because they promised to be different. Instead, we have bureaucrats making decisions, cllrs who seem to know nothing without officers guiding them, and the public utterly shunned.
Here’s Green cllr Izzy Russell, talking about dismissing a consultation.
Let me mention a @bristolgreenparty.bsky.social tale.
In 2024, Green council leader Tony Dyer was refusing public forum questions about selling off Bristol and about spying on SEND mothers but he happily met Business West for a private audience.
Chair of Business West is Colin Skellett.
For example: Try researching Gloucestershire Constabulary -'The Worst In The West' - any period but especially the last 50-70 years & see how far you get (likewise Avon & Somerset Constabulary).

Well said, Paula O’Rourke.
“Councillors, unlike private citizens, do not have a right to be protected from offence. We are elected precisely to listen to those we represent, including when what we hear is difficult."
The cllrs who walked out should resign.

It’s hard to even express how awful this is.
TC: This seems absent from todays' national media - ASP news management yet again?
'It was only an airgun' is unacceptable.

But I’m going to keep reading about them regardless.
I’m starting a PhD at the University of Bristol this month.
I'll be working on predicting higher education access rates for young people engaged with care, by local authority.
It’s easier to look at the numbers and statistical models than read of the heartache of generations being abandoned.
These were not accidents. They were choices. And those choices are indefensible.

Three boys – Max, Mason and Darrian – lost their lives in just three weeks.
A review into youth violence was commissioned and it exposes how Bristol’s most vulnerable children are failed: SEND delays, parents spied on, South Bristol left behind, and Black boys excluded.
!
Thats a bit lovely.
The Green administration are complicit in not investigating Marvin Rees’ payments from companies he gave contracts to. They helped delete and hide his emails.
Thanks, Private Eye.
It's embarrassing that, as a Brit, I'm better represented on the world stage by the Spanish PM than I am that contemptible sack of pink goo that was poured into Downing St.

Ofsted will push ahead with plans for a new "report card" system of inspecting schools in England, despite strong criticism from a coalition of school leaders, campaigners and former inspectors. One card will rate how inclusive a school is www.bbc.com/news/articles/cx...
Why should money intended to support disabled children be diverted to pay for an inquiry into wrongdoing by council officers and politicians? SEND budgets were never designed to underwrite harm caused by the council itself.
Over and over, councillors stressed that the inquiry must be “kept tight” so as not to “eat into our very precious SEND budget” (Green Cllr Ellie Freeman).
But this framing is insidious.
We’re halfway there.
Now we know the timeline....
Was Darren Jones’ new role (which otherwise looks like a risky demotion from being Chief Secretary in the Treasury) actually created by Starmer as a kind of waiting room
- so that Jones can smoothly become Deputy PM for all domestic policies when Rayner has to go?
Labour and Greens in Bristol are both complicit in keeping Marvin’s payments secret.
Why is he still being paid by Ameresco?
What are they paying him for and was it before or after the company was handed a £1 billion contract with the council?
